John Amaechi, "When you listen to this conversation, it's like the policy was make for the apocryphal kind of grotesque stereotype of what an immigrant is" "Not for real actual people" "Yes there are fraudsters in this world. Guess what, they're not just black and brown people coming to this country" "I worked in the NHS for 10 years where migrants doing the jobs that many of us would find the most desirable did it with passion - we stood by as they protected our loved ones in their most vulnerable moment" "And I'm not saying that that is the picture of all migrants too" "But surely a more charitable picture than the fraudsters and the connivers, the criminals, somehow - as if we do not have them here in aplenty" "Any time you look at a policy that starts to tell people coming here that they're only valuable if they make more than this amount of money, then all of us here should look out" My view: During the pandemic, we called them essential workers. We applauded them for caring for our parents, cleaning hospital wards and keeping the country going. Now their wages are being used to question whether they contribute enough to deserve a future here. Their contribution hasn’t diminished. Politicians have simply found it convenient to stop recognising it. If someone earns too little while doing work our society depends on, perhaps the problem is how little we pay them. What a cruel response to underpaid care workers: we need you to look after our families, but your wages make you unworthy of settling alongside them. John Amaechi’s warning should trouble everyone. Once a government starts measuring people’s worth by their salary, millions of us should wonder where that leaves us. What price do you put on someone holding your mother’s hand through the night? And why would their payslip tell you whether they deserve to stay?

This one really got me. ❤️😭 EL-SAYED: “to all the parents who struggled to explain to their kids why the president openly mocks someone for their name or how they pray, let them know tomorrow that the bad guys lost.”

BREAKING: SWEET REVENGE! The Navy Admiral who Pete Hegseth fired DEFEATS her MAGA opponent to win a House seat in South Carolina — cementing the blue tsunami with a poetic flourish! This is just too beautiful... Democrat Nancy Lacore, a 35-year Navy veteran who rose through the ranks from helicopter pilot to become Chief of Navy Reserve, was fired in August of 2025 amid Hegseth's purging of high-ranking women in the military. While no official reason was given, the deeply misogynistic Hegseth has not been coy about his caveman belief that only testosterone-injecting men should serve. Lacore has now defeated Republican Jenny Costa Honeycutt to seize a seat that was formerly held by MAGA lunatic Nancy Mace who launched a failed bid for the governor's mansion this year. Lacore has not been shy about criticizing Hegseth's disastrous mismanagement of the Defense Department, particularly his failed Iran War. "Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense that we have ever had, and he is doing significant damage to our military that it will really take decades to undo," she said, adding that he "needs to go." The most beautiful irony here? Congresswoman Lacore could soon be voting with the rest of the Democratic majority in the House to impeach Pete Hegseth. We have subpoena power starting in January, so we'll be able to uncover all of the gross negligence and rampant criminality that he's overseen. Ain't karma grand? Please ❤️ and share if you support impeaching Pete Hegseth!

Abdul El-Sayed, "Donald. I know you struggle with my name. So after JD swears me in in January, you can just go on and call me senator" My view: Now THAT is how you put Donald Trump in his place. With a smile, a little swagger, impeccable timing and a devastating punchline. Absolutely magnificent. 🔥👏 For a man who has repeatedly used Abdul El-Sayed's name, Muslim identity and heritage as political weapons, Trump might be discovering that the very people he tries to intimidate are becoming some of his most formidable opponents. There is something wonderfully poetic about answering prejudice not with fear, but with confidence, humour and an unapologetic sense of belonging. And imagine the delicious irony of JD Vance, Trump's own Vice President, having to administer the oath of office to a man whose political rise represents a rejection of so much of what Trump stands for. That moment would be bigger than a political victory. It would be a celebration of an America where your name, your faith and your background are no barriers to public service. The votes are still being counted, but the confidence? Absolutely senatorial. 🇺🇸💙

can't believe what Andy Burnham has done to this country after only a few months in power. Dead bodies in the streets, children dressed in rags begging for food at my door, supermarkets full of cobwebs. Don't vote Labour!

Just Alex Armstrong from GB News doing what any good journalist would do - making up lies to stir up hatred and being called out for it by the police.

Gary Neville got this one spot on: "We always think we have enormous integrity, it's other leagues that have got corruption, fraud, doping scandals..." "This is now coming to our country, to our league, this is the greatest export we have around the world" "People talk about the premier league more than anything when you tell them where you're from" THIS is the underlying insult. The premier league and football here was built over generations by great clubs, big and small. There is history behind clubs like United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs and City itself. These owners came in and didn't care one bit about that history. They could have spent all their money on the best academy, the best stadium, the best scouts and coaches and slowly built a top team over 10 or 15 years... but no... They wanted to start winning straight away, so they scammed the numbers. There's no love for the team's history or the leagues history. It's a PR campaign.

‘None of Manchester Life’s homes are affordable, and the developer does not pay any subsidies for local amenities, known as section 106 payments. ‘Rivals say the partnership has created an uneven playing field for developing the lucrative east Manchester corridor next to the Etihad. “This is a sweetheart deal between the council and Abu Dhabi,” said one. “They get the land without any fair competition process, they can build apartment blocks, and when the blocks start earning millions the council gets no rental income. They don’t even have to make section 106 payments, like lots of other developers. The whole thing stinks.” ‘Manchester Life was launched with a promise “to rebalance the relationship between landlord and tenant to one of equals”. Just a year after the opening of a rental apartment block in Smiths Yard, residents received section 21 eviction notices. These allow landlords to evict tenants without giving a reason, even if the rent has been paid on time and the property kept in good condition.’ thetimes.com/business/articl…

Prince Harry just successfully completed a charity skydive in Ontario alongside fellow veterans, in honour of 102-year-old WWII veteran and former paratrooper Ed Marshall. 🪂❤️ Ed couldn’t jump this time due to a heart condition, so his grandson Bailey jumped alongside Harry in his honour. What a beautiful way to salute this remarkable man and his lifetime of service. 🥹🪖🎖️
