When investing in a project make sure u do all ur homework first.
1. What is the project's market cap & FDV market cap?
2. Are u buying at an ATH?
3. Is the team d0xed & contracts audited?
4. Is there a live product being developed or just hype?
5. Are there users or a community?

Wow.
The amount of coordination and teamwork it took for Binance to put out a statement and reassure customers their funds are safe is astounding.
Onward.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.
Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions.

ATTACKERS REPORTEDLY EXPLOITED ETHEREUM’S EIP-7702 TO DRAIN BINANCE WALLETS
On-chain analysis suggests attackers obtained signed authorizations allowing them to install malicious code on Binance-linked wallets without directly accessing their private keys.
The attackers then used a function called “sweep” to transfer ETH and dozens of tokens into an attacker-controlled wallet.
The same delegated permissions were reportedly used to move another $780 million in USDC from a separate Binance hot wallet.
The attacker’s transaction relayer was funded through Tornado Cash, while nearly 195,460 ETH was subsequently transferred to a newly created wallet.
How the attackers obtained the authorizations remains unknown. Binance says user funds are safe and is investigating.
ok safe to say binance is pwned
The biggest assets were approximately:
• 1.615B USDT
• 62.6M RLUSD
• 29,934 wBETH
• 11,372 XAUt
• 6.19M UNI
• 198.4M ENA
• 7.175T PEPE
• 27.8M USD1
• 2.26M LINK
• 127,853 AAVE
about $2.5B at the explorer’s prices.
1. The attacker deployed a delegate contract, 0x63e842b0...73e9c6fAe, from the relayer at 15:59 UTC.
2. About four hours later, the relayer submitted an EIP-7702 authorization transaction
That installed the malicious 7702 delegate code on Binance 14.
3. The relayer then made a call to Binance 14, executing the delegate code, and transferring Binance 14’s ETH and token balances.
4. The calldata is labeled sweep(address, address[]). The second argument is a list of recognizable token-contract addresses plus the zero-address (eth).
5. The same relayer later used the same delegate to move 780M USDC from Binance Hot Wallet 34 into the same pool
• The relayer 0x7C... was funded by three Tornado Cash 0.1 ETH withdrawals over the prior two days.
• The same pool also received 28,005.6 ETH from Binance 16 24 seconds after the main sweep.
• The pool then forwarded 195,460 ETH to a fresh, unlabeled EOA
• That EOA has only one transaction and currently holds the 195,460 ETH.
What's a bit unclear is why the relayer was needed in the first place. If they had the private keys to the Binance wallets, they could have just sent the assets out in an atomic bundle without needing a relayer at all.
So it seems likely that they didn't have the private keys and instead just had the 7702 auth signatures, which must have been phished somehow.
I think we can go ahead and assume DPRK.

‼️ UPDATE ON THE BINANCE HACK:
Whoever emptied a Binance hot wallet had 50 authorisations signed with that wallet's own private key, on-chain data shows.
Under Ethereum's EIP-7702, an authorisation is a signed permission that lets a wallet hand control of itself to code.
Each one works only for the wallet's next transaction number, its nonce. Binance's wallet was still sending transactions, so that number kept moving.
The sender didn't know which number would be live, so they packed all 50 into one transaction, Blockaid says. One matched.
That one installed a sweeper contract on the wallet. Blockaid found that only the Tornado Cash-funded sender can operate it.
Minutes later it emptied the wallet of $1.6B in USDT, 167,464 ETH and 60+ other tokens.
Only that key, or the system that holds it, can produce those signatures. How the sender got them is unknown.
Across Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron, at least $5.57B left Binance-linked wallets.
Binance says user funds are "completely safe" but has not explained how.

The Binance hacker might have just pulled off one of the smartest moves I’ve seen in crypto.
First, Tether froze $1.5 billion in USDT.
Then Circle froze another $800 million in USDC.
At that point, it looked like the hacker’s money was trapped.
But apparently, he had already planned for that.
Instead of holding the stolen USDT in a wallet, he allegedly deposited it into Aave and used it as collateral to borrow ETH.
Then he walked away.
That’s where the story gets crazy.
Tether can freeze the USDT sitting in the wallet.
But it can’t freeze the ETH he already borrowed.
So now Aave is left holding frozen collateral, while the hacker is sitting on liquid ETH.
And unless the protocol can recover it somehow, he may not even need to pay the loan back.
Two companies froze billions of dollars in seconds.
But someone who understood how to use DeFi may have found a way around both of them.
Pretty insane when you think about it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The described Aave deposit used only ~60M USDT as collateral to borrow 19,762 WETH before freezes hit the main wallet, not the bulk of funds; Aave states the overcollateralized position is subject to normal liquidation with no material protocol risk.

🚨 CRITICAL: 9.8/10 LINUX KERNEL VULNERABILITY EXPOSES SERVERS TO REMOTE ATTACKS
A serious vulnerability has been discovered in the Linux kernel's TCP networking code, potentially allowing unauthenticated attackers to crash vulnerable servers remotely.
CVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free vulnerability triggered by specially timed network requests.
⚠️ Here's what makes this concerning:
No authentication required.
Remote attacks against exposed TCP services.
Potential kernel memory corruption and server crashes.
Multiple Linux distributions affected, including Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Amazon Linux.
Ubuntu confirms that versions 22.04, 24.04, 26.04, and 26.10 remain vulnerable, with security fixes still in progress.
The immediate demonstrated concern is denial of service. Remote system takeover has not been established, despite the critical 9.8 CVSS rating.
Linux administrators should review affected kernels and apply vendor security updates as soon as they're available.

User funds are safe!
It does look like a hack on Binance. Appreciate the quick freeze from Tether (~$971m) and Circle (~$823m).
I don't manage Binance (.com) anymore, but as a shareholder, I expect all user funds will be fully covered.
The only way you stop these hacks is threatening the ☠️ penalty for exceeding an X amount of money if caught. $3 Billion stolen. Holy f*ck... With $5B+ withdrawn from the exchange. WTF!?!?
