All boarding schools in Kenya should be closed immediately until basic fire safety is proven. No dormitory should reopen without fire detectors installed everywhere, working alarms, clear exits, extinguishers, and a public safety certificate. This is no longer a “wait for investigations” matter. Children are sleeping in death traps while Ministry of Education officials behave like they are on leave. If this is not done, we will rant and rant until another fire. Kenyans are known to forget very fast and having a very short memory.
