Acute treatment in MOGAD
should be viewed as a disease-modifying intervention, where early, timely, and appropriately escalated therapy has the potential to alter long-term outcomes ! tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.… @EoinFlanagan14 @NeuroinmunUC @TheMOGProject

A historic moment for the MOGAD community!
Positive Phase III results from the METEOROID clinical trial mark the first successful MOGAD treatment study—made possible by the participants and their families.
As the pre-eminent global nonprofit for #MOGAD, The MOG Project calls this a “historic day” and applauds “Hoffmann-LaRoche/Genentech’s landmark achievement and their investment in finding new, safe, and effective treatments for MOGAD.”

To support the cause most dear to me. Finding a stem cell transplant donor for someone from a minority ethnic group can be difficult as they are underrepresented on international World Marrow Donor Association registries. If you are >18 years old, consider registering:

Delighted to share @andreuvilaseca7 et al study highlighting episodes of painful transient vision loss in #MOGAD ➡️ He came up with the interesting mixed Greek/Latin term of amaurosis fugax dolorosa ➡️ This may be an early clue to #MOGAD diagnosis 👇neurology.org/doi/10.1212/NX…

We’re keen to see an international study which follows relapsing #MOGAD patient’s MRIs from disease onset to relapses so we can get a better understanding of what happens to these patients paired with MRIs. Do they have atrophy? Neuropathy? Lesions completely disappeared? Lesions still active? 🤷🏻♀️

We often talk about a dream team, but we’ve rarely seen one with a Dr & their patient. Until now.. Dr @darshi_r our #MOGAD expert & @JustJen_K our Aus Ambassador taking her son (a beautiful miracle) to meet her neurologist who changed her life! We are so honored to have these 2 & that they have found each other through the midst of Jen’s MOGAD diagnosis & challenging journey. 🩵💚
