📺🧡On October 1, 1984, Nickelodeon introduced the logo that would define the network for decades: ‘Nickelodeon’ in the balloon font, set inside an orange shape. It replaced the silver ball logo used since 1981.
It wasn’t always a splat, though. Early on, the splat was fairly rare. The orange shape could be almost anything (a plane, a bone, a star, a car) as long as it stayed orange.
That flexible orange mark became the foundation of Nickelodeon’s visual identity still seen today
