Kebbi State Government

I flagged off the 3.5MW Solar Power Project in Ambursa, a major step towards improving electricity supply and expanding access to clean, reliable energy across Kebbi State. This project is not just about generating power; it is about creating opportunities for businesses to thrive, supporting our institutions, improving livelihoods, and accelerating the socio-economic development of our state. I appreciate the Rural Electrification Agency and our development partners for this important collaboration, and I assure the good people of Kebbi State of our unwavering commitment to delivering projects that have a direct impact on their lives.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ably represented by the Vice President, His Excellency @officialSKSM, paid a condolence visit to Kebbi State over the recent bandits’ attack in Shanga Local Government Area and the demise of the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman-Zuru. We deeply appreciate this show of solidarity, compassion, and shared grief from the Federal Government at this difficult time. The loss of our gallant security personnel and our dear Speaker is painful, but we remain resolute in our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our people. We thank Mr. President for his continued support and assurance that the Federal Government is doing everything possible to address the security challenges. Kebbi State will continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting peace and stability. May Almighty Allah grant the fallen heroes and the late Speaker Aljannatul Firdaus, and give their families the strength to bear these irreparable losses.

The Kebbi State Government announces with deep sorrow the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai. His demise is a great loss to the Government and people of Kebbi State. He was a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the growth of democratic governance and legislative development in our state. On behalf of the Government and good people of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, extends heartfelt condolences to his family, the Kebbi State House of Assembly, and the entire people of the state over this painful loss. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace.

Today, we gather to honor the unwavering dedication and supreme sacrifice of our armed forces. Their courage and selflessness have secured our nation’s peace and freedom. As a government, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our heroes and their families. Let’s unite in gratitude and patriotism, upholding the values of peace, justice, and unity. We will continue to stand by our veterans and their families, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Today, I joined the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, alongside fellow Northern Governors and our revered Traditional Rulers, for a crucial security and development meeting in Kaduna. The challenges confronting Northern Nigeria demand unity, courage, and collective responsibility. The recent security incidents across the region, including the unfortunate abductions in our own Kebbi State, remind us that we must stand together and confront these threats with renewed resolve. I commend the NSGF Chairman for his strong and timely call for action, and I appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift interventions toward securing our people. As leaders, we remain committed to safeguarding our communities, protecting our schools, investing in human capital, and ensuring that every child is in the classroom, not on the streets. Insha-Allah, with unity and commitment, we will restore peace, strengthen our region, and secure a prosperous future for Northern Nigeria.

I’m pleased to have assented to the over N43 billion Reserved 2025 Appropriation Bill, a testament to our collaborative effort with the Kebbi State House of Assembly. This budget will drive development projects across our state, ensuring the dividends of democracy reach our people. I commend the leadership and members of the House for their diligence and commitment to our shared vision for Kebbi State’s progress.

On this momentous occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, I extend warm felicitations to the good people of Kebbi State and Nigeria at large. As we celebrate our nation’s freedom and progress, let us reflect on our collective achievements and the journey ahead. May we continue to work together towards a brighter future for our great nation, harnessing our rich resources and potentials to build a prosperous and united Nigeria. Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians.

We won’t stand idly by while our people are treated like slaves in their own land. Kebbi State’s gold and solid minerals are gifts from the Almighty Allah, and we must manage them for the benefit of our citizens. Recent troubles at the Marrarabar Yauri mining site, involving foreigners and leading to loss of life and property, won’t be tolerated. I’ve directed suspension of activities there until we profile and register all artisanal miners. Our youths and communities must be engaged in these mining activities. We appreciate the support of the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Zayyanu Abdullahi, and we’ll continue to work together for peace, progress, and respect for law and order in Kebbi State.
