Due to the potential storm with high winds expected this evening, KCS will cancel all after school events for today, Friday, January 12, 2024.

A quick message from KCS 🏫

Due to area flooding and potential early morning hazardous road conditions, Kannapolis City schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule for Wednesday, January 10th. Breakfast and lunch will still be served at all schools.

KCS is excited to share that Bernard Waugh has been named the new principal at Shady Brook Elementary! Mr. Waugh has served in KCS for many years, first as an outstanding teacher at Kannapolis Middle School, and most recently as the assistant principal at Forest Park Elementary.

Current weather forecasts are projecting significant amounts of rain and very strong wind gusts throughout much of the day tomorrow. Due to the strong possibility for hazardous road conditions, Kannapolis City Schools will not have school for students on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
