Welp. I cried when I took this. I left 121 S Main today (after a BLAST 2 days w/ @gsibekoct @sjbeckerphd) for the last time as an official member of the Brown community. I have @Brown_SPH to thank for my PhD, postdoc, first academic job, AND my husband. But big things ahead🙏🏼💜

Even though I defended my dissertation almost a year ago, I’m walking in this spring’s Commencement. I was just notified that I received the Community Engaged #PublicHealth Citizen Award from @Brown_SPH for my doctoral work!! a 🧵
4. But at the end of the day, I care about teamwork and shared learning experiences with good people more than anything else. CBPR can so often feel unrewarded in academia. So, it is really, really nice to see that type of work be recognized. #CommunityIsEverything #PublicHealth
