Finished the PhD in <5 years, bought a house, still happily married, hired into a startup that was acquired the day before I started, brave enough to leave academia for biotech and now pursuing a career that’s better than I had imagined!

Got tapped for a special project at work, I’m now a member of our inter-site communication team for R&D. I actually get paid to help scientists communicate with each other more effectively! Oh, and the first meeting is in France. I’M GOING TO FRANCE!!!!
Major accomplishment: I nailed my first seminar talk at a major international conference! Bonus is that it is as on new reagents that designed and released, so cool to see this go from concept to commercial product!
