Time for me to bring this old beauty back.

Thank you America for some glimmers of hope tonight. Please stay the course and remember just how bad this has gotten every single election from now on.
Oh, and could you please get rid of those idiotic tariffs and try to repair some relationships? It's time.

A single Russian player playing in the NHL/CHL or any other non Russian league….is not the same as Russia representing its country playing in a tournament.
The amount of people that don’t recognize the difference is staggering.
Oi.
From @Aportzline ... "Conor Garland, 30, has yet to register a point this season. In fact, he’s gone a career-long 26 games without a goal and a career-long 20 games without a point."
Garland is in the first year of a six-year deal at $6 million per year.

Dear Americans, today is Election Day.
Before you cast your vote, remember Izium, Ukraine.
414 civilians. Five children. Tortured. Executed. Buried in a forest.
Your president, Mr. Trump, called russia’s conduct “frankly normal.”
Remember that.

The horrific moment a russian FAB-3000 struck a school where civilians had gathered to receive humanitarian aid.
31 killed. 48 still missing.
russia is a murderous state. Stop pretending otherwise.
So you see? This happens every single day there. Deliberate targetting of civilians. Russians must be held to account and arrested for war crimes. They don't even care that we see it.

Russia has fully withdrawn from the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
Prior to the full-scale invasion, Russia authorized the publication of only four visit reports from the 30 visits to places of deprivation of liberty carried out by the Commission of the Prevention of Torture.
Since the full-scale war started, there have been numerous reports of acts of torture within Russia and within Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories. Russia has not allowed external visits to examine the situation (Ukraine, on the other hand, permits visits to any place at any moment, according to the Commission's report, and reports from Ukraine are published automatically).
Thousands of Ukrainian civilians and soldiers remain in Russian captivity where they are tortured, humiliated and deprived of basic human rights. Russia continues to remain unpunished for its actions.

This is why Russia must be defeated. They've been doing this since every day if this war. They've done it in every war they've ever been in. They need to be defeated and reformed.
I just read that the Russian attack on Komyshuvakha, which killed at least 26 people, took place at the very time when bread was scheduled to be distributed to local residents and people from nearby villages.
Bread!
These people, most likely elderly people and women, were waiting in line for bread when Russia murdered them…

This is yet another reason why supporting Ukraine is so important.
⚡️ Russia withdraws from anti-torture convention, ending independent monitoring of detention facilities
The withdrawal took effect on November 1. The Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture will no longer be able to independently inspect Russian prisons, penal colonies, pre-trial detention centers, and other places of detention.
Russia had been a party to the convention since 1998. During that time, the committee conducted 30 visits and inspected more than 450 detention facilities. However, Russian authorities allowed only four reports to be published.
This is particularly alarming given the numerous accounts of Ukrainians being tortured in Russian captivity. The UN has documented systematic beatings, electric shocks, suffocation, sexual violence, and abuse of prisoners of war. In a December 2025 report, 185 out of 187 interviewed Ukrainian service members released from captivity reported torture or ill-treatment.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the committee had received reports of torture and ill-treatment in Russia and Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine. However, it was unable to investigate these allegations on the ground because Russian authorities refused to cooperate.
