Labour's ILR reforms relaxed to allow care workers to claim permanent settlement after just 5 years. All on the basis of a consultation where only 18% of respondents were British citizens! Who does the UK Government work for? Foreign citizens are setting our migration policies.

It's not the city, it's the people who live in it.
It is a rare miracle in human history that Tokyo, a massive metropolis with a population of 30 million, is clean and safe throughout, with virtually no slums or dangerous districts.

Whatever you do don’t mess with a Boer, an Afrikaner in South Africa, they will show you flames. Once again Afrikaners proving to us that they are indeed worthy of running our crime intelligence in this Country. Look at how he fired back at hijackers!

Outside the Anglophone world humour is mostly quite one dimensional and cringe. I don't think irony is as much a social norm as it is for English speakers, especially in Britain and Ireland, and the English-speaking internet dissects and cycles through memes very fast. Then you go to the continent and it feels like a time capsule of the 2010s internet where zoomers still make attack helicopter jokes and do stuff like this.

Just got back from Australia. Spent the entire flight back in absolute silence after Fiona, my partner of 11 years, asked me what my favourite thing about Sydney was… In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have said “probably her tits”.
