Four new cases have been confirmed in Kenya, bringing the total to seven, including one death. All four were identified among people already in quarantine.
Dr @WessamMankoula explains one key indicator: are new cases coming from the contact list, or from outside it?
🟢 From the list = low risk
🟥 Outside the list = the virus is spreading undetected

This is a massive undertaking by the @MOH_Kenya 113/possible 128 contacts successfully traced in such a short time. The 2nd case confirmed in an isolated patient.
It is only a mater of little time until #Kenya beats EVD outbreak.

This is an innovative initiative
99/100 times, we don't need 2 reinvent the wheel, we only need 2 sincerely execute our public duties
🇸🇴 is full of talented youth who need support
If this gov doesn't prioritize education, research, entrepreneurship & innovation, then who will?
Ethiopia's 5 Million Coders initiative is a good example of how governments can invest in their greatest asset—their people.
Somalia should take inspiration from this model and launch a national digital literacy and coding initiative that equips our youth with practical skills in programming, data science, AI, cybersecurity, and digital entrepreneurship or Basic digital skills, Investing in digital skills today is investing in jobs, innovation, and our country's future.

Somalia has officially acceded to the AfCFTA!
Proud to lead the Ministry as we enter this crucial next chapter—opening a $3.4 trillion market of 1.4B people to Somali businesses and exporters.
See the attached press release for more details.
I never expected this from you man.
Corruption allegations for HSM/anyone deserve fair, independent, & thorough investigation—not conclusions based on rhetoric.
The language & imagery in your post unfairly tarnish #Somalia & #Somalis & appear politically motivated.
🇸🇴🇹🇷🇹🇿🇩🇯 Serious corruption allegations are MOUNTING against Somalia’s president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud…
He’s alleged to have seized vast areas of state land, diverted roughly a billion dollars or more through opaque channels, and supposedly receives MILLIONS each month from the khat trade.
Critics also accuse him of taking personal cuts from foreign-funded projects and placing key state businesses under his own family’s control.
Additional claims point to involvement in Turkey’s oil deals, control of Banadir’s regional revenue through his wife, and dozens of major construction contracts run by relatives.
Suspected offshore holdings in Tanzania and Turkey, plus business ties to Djibouti’s leadership, further add to the dirty picture.
And that's without even mentioning all that's been alleged connecting him to what's been going down in Minnesota these past few years...
Whether proven or not, the scale of these accusations is so significant that independent investigation and documentation must now be widely demanded. The people deserve answers!!

The discussion of Somalia's sub-national political landscape is quite ironic. It is said there will be an "election", yet the president has given the seats to certain candidates in the upcoming "dispensation." This is a contradiction in terms. This implies that the seats in South-West, Galmudug, and Hirshabelle are effectively owned by President @HassanSMohamud, who can easily hand them over to friends.
Subsequently, the president's party and the Election Commission will orchestrate a theatrical performance around his decision, finishing it off with a lineup, cameras, and computers. This is a joke. Why not simply make direct appointments?
The whole exercise reveals that the government's electoral and party systems are not suitable for the Somali context.

Beryahaan warka beledka yaal wuxuu u badan yahay doodaha la xiriira sida loo abbaarayo maamul-goboleedyada muddo-dhaafka ah. Waxaad maqlaysaa “Madaxweynuhu wuxuu kuraasta maamul-goboleedyada siiyey musharraxiin saaxiibadiis ah” Haddana, waxaa hadalka ku jira ‘ereyga doorashada.” Macnuhu waa in kuraasta maamul-goboleedyada uu Xassan Sheekh leeyahay oo uu qofkuu doono siin karo. Yaab!
Marka uu madaxweynuhu bixiyo kuraasta ayaa xisbiga iyo guddiyadu billaabayaan jilitaanka riwaayad lagu xalaalaynayo go’aanka – dad la safayo iyo kaamerooyin iyo computer-kii tiradu ku jirtay. Haddiiba ay sidaas tahay oo kuraasta uu madaxweynuhu leeyahay maxaa dadka loo wareerinayaa? Muu magacaabo dhammaantood?
Waxa kaliya oo ka soo baxay isku-dayga dowladda waa in nidaamyada doorashooyinka iyo kan xisbiyada ee ay wataan, aysan ahayn kuwii ku habboonaa Soomaalida.

The Problem Is Not the Quote
My timeline is full of Turkish media and social media posts like the attached.
At first glance, they appear to be straightforward reporting of what His Excellency @HassanSMohamud said.
The problem, however, is not the quote.
The problem is the casual presentation of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as Somalia’s legitimate president when his legal mandate expired on 15 May 2026.
Turks, of all people, should understand why legitimacy matters. Had the 15 July 2016 coup succeeded, Turks would not appreciate foreign media casually treating those who seized power as the legitimate government.
Many of us who hold these views are not anti-Türkiye. Quite the opposite. We have spent years celebrating the Somalia–Türkiye partnership.
Somalia’s greatest assets are its people, its country, its resources—and a political culture that values freedom, constitutional government, the rule of law, and the peaceful transfer of power, while instinctively resisting authoritarian rule and subjugation.
Türkiye should be on the side of Somalia and the Somali people, and should understand that many Somalis view the current dispute not as a contest over personalities, but as a question of constitutional legitimacy, democratic principle, and the peaceful transfer of power.
That is the point our Turkish brothers and sisters need to internalize — because this is ultimately a question of legitimacy, and it is not going away regardless of the sweet talk of outgoing politicians, the sympathies of their admirers, or the amplification of their narratives by well-meaning partners.
Somalis did not build their political culture around submission to strongmen, and they are unlikely to start now.
