Congratulations to Coach Elder and the Avon Eagles! I’ve had the opportunity to cover nine of their ten games this season, and watching the growth of this team has been incredible. To see how far they’ve come with essentially a brand-new group speaks volumes about the quality of this program from top to bottom. Great kids, great coaches, great community, just an outstanding public school. It all ties together. It’s been a pleasure covering this team each week and watching them develop. Congratulations on a tremendous regular season, and best of luck as you move forward into the playoffs! #OhioHSFootball

CAPTAINS: Leadership is more than a title, position, status, talent, or having a "C" next to your name. Leadership is an action that moves your team forward. A leader helps their teammates to be their best. A leader makes others better. A leader is a positive influence.

If you only work hard when you feel motivated, you’ll never be consistent enough to reach your biggest goals. To succeed in life, you need to have the discipline to work hard even when you don’t feel like it.

PLAYERS: You don’t inspire your teammates by showing them how amazing YOU are. You inspire your teammates by helping them see how amazing THEY are and can be.
