NFL Offenses aren't the only innovators and have copycats. NFL Defenses are right there! The meta, it appears, is more and more teams blitzing less and less. And, a lot of the time, it WORKS. The Rams, Seahawks, Texans, Packers & Eagles were amongst the bottom ten in blitz rate, and yet were in the TOP 10 in pressure rate in 2025. They were getting home despite not bringing extra rushers. Why? Simulated pressures & coverage disguises. This is not new. Fangio-inspired, and now perfected by Jeff Hafley (big reason he's a HC now) and Mike MacDonald. And guess what? The Titans blitzed 5th least last year and were 12th in no blitz pressure rate. Dennard Wilson is bringing similar concepts to the Giants. It's also why having excellent press corners are also important (hence drafting Colton Hood - the best press corner in the draft). If you can force the QB to hold on just a second and have them second guess where pressure is coming from, you have a successful defense. It's why they were so excited with Arvell Reese & why some (not all, they are different prospects) overlap with Abdul Carter is so perfect. Both are alpha rushers that can play at a high enough level as stack linebackers to legitimately disguise where the pressure is going to come from. Matt Patricia did an excellent job at OSU of disguising pressure. Two such examples seen below vs Texas where Reese is threatening over the A gap. In one, he backs off and ends up as a spy on Arch, who is forced to dump off to the safety valve and the other is Arch getting confused and yields to the DB coming off the edge. Can you imagine Abdul & Arvell double mugging the A gap and you have no clue who's coming and who isn't? Dennard Wilson must be giddy.

If they're committed to spending resources at RB instead of OL, I'd love for them to look at JC Davis at LG instead of Jon Runyan (unless Andrew Thomas is out)
Giants will likely try to add to the RB room before trade deadline, per @Connor_J_Hughes.

Truly think the Giants were so disgusted with the run game that it played an important factor in picking JJM to start. Start incorporating more RPOs, designated QB runs, etc

Pretty shocked the NFL found no wrongdoing by the Eagles. I cannot fathom a situation where multiple things did not go wrong. Teams have been fined and docked draft picks for much smaller infractions than this appears to be.

Arvell Reese is the only rookie LB since 1999 with 45+ total tackles, 4+ TFL, 1+ sack, 4+ PBU's, 1+ INT through the first six games of the season. #BigBlue

The IRONY is that Jesse Morse promoted a notion that a testosterone level of 500 was somehow low, and that the optimal range for men was at 600-900. There is no evidence behind this. Big trials showed no benefit to increasing T if levels were normal. The American Urological Association, the Endocrine Society and multiple European societies all agree. One size, of course, doesn't fit everybody, but this type of shit may encourage people to go out and try testosterone when they may not need it. And guess what risk is associated with testosterone therapy? BLOOD CLOTS He didn't tell yall that in this tweet though: xitter.cf/DrJesseMorse/status/20… Follow the evidence, not someone trying to sell you something.
There’s just some things you need to keep to yourself and get off your agenda. Go sell your peptides to a 20yr old who needs to look max or whatever it’s called @DrJesseMorse Pack it up buddy. Your days are done. Save face while you can before these Twitter feens go after your practice.

Insane first sentence, btw
How committed is Jalen Hurts to football? After initially being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London, doctors told him not to sleep as a precaution, so he had been awake for roughly 36 hours when he started against the Jaguars, throwing for 220 yards and a TD.

Isaiah Likely tied for 3rd most receiving TDs in the league among all players. 6th in receptions and 16th in yards (#1 among all TEs) #Giants

My thoughts on the Giants - Saints game since I didn't tweet (much) during it: - Malik Nabers is absolutely a franchise level talent, an easy WR1 in the league. His effort is on and off. 85% of the time he's putting the team on his back. The other 15% he doesn't fight for the ball or quits on a route. He cleans that up, he'll be mentioned in the same breath as the other two elite LSU WR1s. - Given just how much the run game has struggled, I think that's reason enough to put JJM in, irrespective of the wild performance in the 4th quarter. He keeps defenses honest, and that can make a difference. - The OL is a problem. Andrew Thomas needs the bye week desperately. Mauigoa needs to get better, and in a hurry. 3rd straight game that has been pretty awful. - Abdul Carter showed, yet again, that he's the best player on this defense. Arvell Reese will fight for that spot, but not just yet. - DJ Reader has been great, but thought he had an off game today, and when that happens, the iDL crumbles. Perhaps the most disappointing performance by that group all year. - Isaiah Likely should be mentioned in the same tier as Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. I cannot remember a free agent the Giants have signed in recent memory to have this level of impact. He's insane. - You can't win being as arrogant with ball security that the Giants have been. It's honestly unfathomable and repulsive. This was obviously a winnable game. Stupid mistakes and errors harkened me back to the past decade of idiot Giants teams. I don't want to go back to those memories again.
