We are all set to welcome our Foundation Y6 pupils @KingsStAlbans @KingsHawford with ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’, some book title based games, and a scavenger hunt! #BigKings
Author John Boyne @johnboyne signing a copy of #Fire for the School Library ; 3rd title in his new quartet of novels. Thankyou @RossiterBooks for hosting such an engaging event in Malvern. Fascinating stuff - from catharsis and authenticity to not 'staying in your lane'📚
Starting today, we have four busy days in school with activities and events marking #AntiBullyingWeek In the Library we have a packed display and a brand new Anti-Bullying reading list! #ChooseRespect @AntilbullyingAll @ABAonline
The wait is over! Tonight George Capell OV (& son of our Assistant Librarian) will appear on #UniversityChallenge with his St Andrews teammates when they take on Cardiff at 8:30 pm BBC 2. Good luck George - we are so proud & excited!

Happy #WorldMentalHealthDay - particularly to those of us privileged to have a school (and even better - a school library 📚) as our workplace!
Y8 WRAITH (Library Book Club) off to the strongest of starts - delicious goodies baked by Katie and Amelia, and a choice of 3 fantasy future classics (Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell, Tyger @whatSFSaid
& Skandar and the Unicorn Thief
@annabelwriter) We even had napkins!
We are underway with #Bookbuzz! It's always a pleasure to start the school year with this activity for our Y7s. L4C were beautifully engaged with their 'speed-dating' session - all choosing a book to keep from the excellent titles selected by @Booktrust #WeLoveReadingForPleasure
What a pleasure to meet the @KingsStAlbans Y6 pupils and to be able to give them a taster of what the Senior School Library has to offer when they join us in September. Really delightful pupils who thoroughly engaged with our reading for pleasure activities! 📚
What a perfect morning in the Library with three Y7&8 classes visiting to choose books for the 'Genre discovery' reading challenge. L4B & L4D stayed on, resulting in delightful clusters of children reading throughout the Library. My idea of Heaven! #WeLoveReading 📚
It's #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and this is our new display in response to the 2024 theme ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’. For some great tips to help us get the mental health benefits of movement visit mentalhealth.org.uk/movement… #MomentsForMovement
We launched a 'Genre discovery' Reading Challenge on World Book Day 7th March. Y8 pupils Zofia, Henry, and Stella had completed the 12 categories less than three weeks later, whilst Y7 Penny and Amelia completed theirs over the Easter break! Wonderful reading role models all!📚
Just getting my breath back after issuing over forty books to these wonderful children from L4C and L4D (Y7 classes) - their 2024 Genre Discovery Reading Challenge is well and truly underway! 📚#ReadingChallenge #WeLoveReadingForPleasure
Replying to @Booktrust @WorldBookDayUK
By being Beatrix Potter! We also had a fabulous themed lunch in school, launched a book review competition and a Genre Discovery Reading Challenge, and enthusiastic pupils gave out the World Day Books.
Some literary characters turned up at school today, to attend our @WorldBookDay lunch. It was possible to spot Beatrix Potter, Mrs Phelps (from Matilda), a magnificent Father Brown (G K Chesterton's fictional priest and detective) & Mrs Banks from Mary Poppins!
