It's so dumb. You can basically make him galactic emperor by game three and he'll still do a heel turn.
Part of the reaction this is getting is probably because the Batarians never had their "redeption arc" or softening of their edges like the Krogan and Geth did.
Like in galactic history the Krogan are way WAY worse than the Batarians, but are fan favourites.
I can finally talk about Mass Effect Universe.
Since Bioware closed I can now reveal that I was part of the Mass Effect Council, saw what BioWare was building, and provided feedback during development.
• Set 600+ years after the Reaper War
• You play as a customizable N7 agent
• Instead of being a walking gun rack, you're a cross between John Wick and James Bond
• Shepard's legacy preserved, regardless of your ending
• A galaxy divided into three major factions
• Humanity, Krogan, Batarians, and more allied together
• Council races forming their own alliance
• The Geth emerging as a third superpower
• A galactic Cold War instead of another Reaper style invasion with a shadowy adversary
• Geth-built megastructures
• Connections between the Milky Way and Andromeda
• Experimental technology implanted in you as a unique point of difference
• Hacking and manipulating the environment
• See through walls, identify systems, remotely trigger hazards and more
• Handcrafted missions like ME1-3
• But with Hitman-style freedom in how you complete them
• Brutal close-range executions
• Squadmates who can clash with each other
• Romance wasn't being sanitised
• Liara returns - now an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch
From what I saw, BioWare was making Mass Effect for us, the fans, not for people who don't exist.
It looked incredible.
And now we may never get to play it.

For some reason this week I had a strong urge to play Castlevania 2: Simon's quest. A game I've never played before and only knew by reputation.
I can see why people were annoyed by it at the time, but I liked it.
Something I've noticed in various fantasy undead factions and armies is that in the hierarchy of things, Skeletons outclass zombies.
You'd think a zombie would be more preferable since it's got more heft and weight to it.
This is such a boomer-esque revisionist take on gaming. Video games used to package pertinent information on design and abilities in the game's manual. The studios used to sell guides in books and magazines.
Checking out a demo for a game called Conquest of Eldinar. My brief synopsis would be that it's Warcraft through the aesthetic of Stellaris portraits.
I tried out the demo for this and it's so funny that it's basically "Yeah we're making Simon's Quest"
But it's very fun, so I'll be getting it on release.
Something that kind of bugs me is people who keep saying that all Starcraft Marines are resocialised penal conscripts, when thats specifically for the Confederacy.
I doubt Raynor's Raiders are using penal troops, nor the UED troops from Earth.
