I was born, raised and educated in ATL, went to college in Florida, worked in Washington, DC, went to law school in Massachusetts, lived and worked again in DC, live in Southwest Atlanta and am proudly voting for @KeishaForGA for our next Governor!
I was born in Thomaston, Georgia, and grew up in Barnesville, Griffin, Macon, Lookout Mountain, and Chattanooga. I went to college in Murfreesboro, moved back to Chattanooga, spent a few years in Memphis, and finally returned to Georgia in 2021.
I’ve called Sandy Springs home for the past five years, and I proudly voted for Keisha Lance Bottoms for governor! 🍑🗳️

FLORIDA: As you are out there voting for governor, Senate and Congress, remember who’s been running Florida for 27 years: Republicans!
🏠 Home prices UP 78%
🏘️ Rent UP 124%
⚡ Power UP 58%
They’ve controlled Tallahassee for nearly three decades. Floridians have every right to demand accountability for the cost of living and to ask who’s been profiting from these rate hikes.
It’s time for change.
Today, I’m honored to share that President Obama is supporting our campaign for the U.S. Senate.
President @BarackObama & I both started as organizers in our communities, because we immediately understood that real changes come from regular folks joining the fight.

VP @KamalaHarris: We got 12 days to make history. I have traveled here because Mississippi matters. Never let someone else's limited ability to see your capacity be a limitation on your ambition. We see Scott Colom as the next United States Senator from Mississippi. The people of Mississippi deserve better

The $25 million for FAMU was real, but it does not settle the bigger funding issue.
FAMU confirmed that Florida lawmakers approved about $25 million to finish its student services building. Several people helped secure that money, so the records do not show that Byron Donalds did it alone.
news.famu.edu
Meanwhile, a federal review estimated that FAMU received about $1.97 billion less in state funding than it should have between 1987 and 2020, based on a comparison with the University of Florida. Florida disputes that finding. That amount is an estimated funding shortage, not a bill a court has ordered Florida to pay.
news.wfsu.org
Think of it this way: $25 million is about $1.27 for every $100 in that estimated shortage. The building money matters, but it does not prove the larger problem was fixed.

It’s a family affair at the polls! Keisha Lance Bottoms and her family just voted early today. It was her son, Langston’s, first time voting in a general election – and he cast his ballot for his mom.
Don’t wait – early voting ends October 30, and Election Day is November 3. Get out and vote, and bring your family with you!

This should go without saying, but Holly Rowe is a consummate professional and FANTASTIC at her job- especially in covering the WNBA.
She has fought & beaten cancer & always radiates positivity in her job.
AI slop depicting her (or ANY woman) being hit by a man is disgusting.

This wasn’t that long ago. Seeing it in color enhances our perspective. #OTD 69 years ago, Elizabeth Eckford, part of the Little Rock Nine, was a 15-year-old Black girl on her way to school.
The white people in this photo didn’t want to go to school with her. They classified Elizabeth as “other,” “unwanted,” “outcast,” “ni**er.” Imagine what the yellers are saying. Still, today, these labels and more reinforce hatred, bigotry, and racism.
Somebody is yelling that someone else shouldn’t be “here” right now. And wherever violent words persist, other forms of violence preceded or follow.
Honor Elizabeth and the Little Rock Nine today. Guard your mouth. Guard your heart. Guard your conscience. Grow in courage. Show up for people being violated by low-thinking and brazen inhumanity.
