In my latest for @jacobin, I review Karla Murthy's moving documentary THE GAS STATION ATTENDANT—a film about a beloved, if complicated, patriarch and the impossibility of the American Dream. @KarlaMurthy Film playing @AAAFF today; @laemmleglendale 7.15.
