Ah! The throwback to childhood spent reading and re-reading Sagan's Cosmos. Immediately reminded me of the Drosophila experiment mentioned in the chapter "One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue". Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence, which still fits Occam's Razor.

• Sagan's Razor Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The weight of proof rests with the person making a claim, and the more unusual the assertion, the more substantial the evidence needed. You should ask for solid proof if someone says they saw a unicorn.

@LancasterUni , @LancasterSU : With lots of students cycling to Uni, a gentle reminder that you share the A6 with people going 75🍌/s in 1 ton rust buckets using the liquified bones of our distant ancestors. Please follow the Highway Code. #StaySafe gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-…

In the past two days, I have seen over a dozen cyclists travelling towards Uni without proper gear, riding on sidewalks, and wearing noise cancelling headphones.

We have now finished with our trial of the #EmergencyAlert system If you did not receive an alert on your mobile phone, then this was due to the fact that you are not scheduled to survive the upcoming extinction level event #EmergencyAlerts

One of these will haunt me in my dreams... why does AI think humans have 4 or 6 fingers? And an unnaturally large number of teeth in the front?

It is 2023. #Expectation: 10yo posts homework question, "Help me derive the Reimann manifold for a human being" #reality: Despair at the fact that large swathes of population cannot perform basic mathematical operations or agree upon standard notations like BODMAS.
OK, a poll. What's the correct answer to the @DailyMailUK / @carolvorders question: 6 ÷ 2(1+2) ? (Will be interesting to see what the split of answers is.)
