#Jesus willingly submitted to an agonising death; naked, nailed to a beam of wood, there He hung, despised and jeered at, suffocating and bleeding, for you and me for 6 hours, bearing our sin, in our place. He loved us while we still hated Him. There's no love like His.

Mohmed Ahmad Abdulkarim, charged with assisting a foreign intelligence service and Nouman Essghir, charged with entering a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the UK following the RAF Fairford incident. They were all bailed the next day, how much evidence was lost? Meanwhile Danny Tommo is in prison on remand for bursting a dinghy?!

I love the story of John Harrison. Human perseverance can take a man so far... but the power of God helps you trust and wait, even when all human hope is gone.
The Royal Navy lost over 1,300 men in one night. 👑 ⚓🇬🇧 To a question. ❓ Where exactly are we? 🌊 Parliament offered £20,000 to anyone who could answer it. Millions in today's money. 💰 Even Isaac Newton doubted it could be done. 🧠 Then, in a Lincolnshire village, a young carpenter started building clocks. 🔨 No title. No university. No fortune. What happened next took forty years. ⏳ They teach you Isaac Newton. They rarely teach you John Harrison. 🇬🇧 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

You paid to end slavery. 🇬🇧 Britain borrowed twenty million pounds to free 800,000 people in 1833. 💷 The last of it was paid off in 2015. Your taxes. Your parents’. The irony. "Indigenous" people are allowed, which somehow excludes white people...in Germany 🤷🏻‍♂️ The racist ideologies directly imported from the USA are astounding.

CAPTAIN JAMES COOK (A Northerner again!) THE YORKSHIRE LAD WHO HELPED MAP THE WORLD On this day in 1728, James Cook was born in Marton, Yorkshire (27 October, Old Style; 7 November, New Style), beginning a life that would make him one of the most accomplished navigators in maritime history. He was baptised a week later, on 3rd November, at the parish church of St Cuthbert’s. His beginnings were humble. The son of a Scottish farm labourer and his Yorkshire wife, Cook attended a village school in Great Ayton, worked briefly in a shop at Staithes, and was eventually apprenticed to shipowners in Whitby. It was there, sailing colliers along Britain’s eastern coast, that he developed the seamanship and navigational skills that would shape his extraordinary career. Cook joined the Royal Navy in 1755, later distinguishing himself through his remarkably accurate charts of the St Lawrence River (which helped the British capture Quebec) and the coasts of Newfoundland. But his greatest achievements lay ahead. ⚓ 1768–1771: Commanding HMS Endeavour, he sailed to Tahiti to observe the transit of Venus, then circumnavigated and charted New Zealand before surveying Australia’s eastern coastline. ⚓ 1772–1775: His second expedition ventured deep into the Southern Ocean, becoming the first to cross the Antarctic Circle (multiple times) and transforming European understanding of the southern seas. ⚓ 1776–1779: His final voyage sought a northern passage between the Pacific and Atlantic. It brought him to the Hawaiian Islands (the first recorded European contact), where he was killed on 14th February 1779 at Kealakekua Bay. Cook’s achievements were not simply about exploration. His meticulous charts transformed navigation, while his attention to cleanliness, provisions and diet helped combat scurvy; one of the great killers of eighteenth-century seafarers. His expeditions dramatically expanded European geographical and scientific knowledge. In 1776 the Royal Society awarded him its prestigious Copley Medal for his work in preserving the health of his crews. From a Yorkshire village to the farthest reaches of the Pacific; an extraordinary story o f skill, courage, determination and British maritime history. On what would have been his 298th birthday, we remember Captain James Cook (1728–1779).

Another day, another video of chaos on London's streets and of course it’s another migrant doing the attacking. 😡 Women should be able to walk through their own city without being attacked. Police officers shouldn't have to wrestle people to the ground while crowds stand and film because some illegal migrant has tried to attack a young woman. How many more of these videos before City Hall and the Met admit what everyone can see? What they're doing isn't working.

Dave’s final thought of the night.. 👇 An 18-year-old activist says he was arrested in Westminster on Sunday over an alleged use of the P-word, and bailed with conditions. No charge announced. Genuine question: should police be arresting people over words? Where's the line between offensive and an offence? Is it only when it's aimed at someone to harass or distress them, or should it be wider? Video: @JamesHarvey2503

The country that taught the world to test before it believes. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 How do you know anything is true? For most of history, the answer was simple. Because someone important said so. A king. A bishop. An old book. 👑 Then, on the 28th of November 1660, a dozen men in London walked out of a lecture and started a club. 🕯️ It had one rule. Three Latin words. Nullius in verba. 📜 Take nobody's word for it. Not the king's. Not the church's. Not even each other's. ✋ If you said something was true, you had to show it. In front of everyone. 🔬 So they hired Robert Hooke, a curate's son from the Isle of Wight. His job was to prove it. Or it didn't count. 💪 One day he looked down a microscope at a slice of cork. It was full of tiny holes, like a honeycomb. He called them cells, like the little rooms monks slept in. 🧫 Every cell in your body got its name from him. 👶 In 1665, the club started printing its findings for anyone to read. It's still printed today. The longest-running science journal in the world. 📚 It's why medicines are tested before you take them. It's why scientists have to show their working. 💊 It's why the truth doesn't belong to whoever shouts loudest. 📢 They teach you that science is about lone geniuses. Not that it started with a room full of Londoners agreeing to check each other's homework. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 Every fact in our films gets checked and sourced on our website. Take nobody's word for it. Alfred the Great died on this day in 899. Most people think England “just happened”. It didn’t. He stopped the Viking advance, held Wessex, and lit the fire of a shared English identity. His grandson Æthelstan finished the job. In 927 he took York and became the first true King of all the English. At Brunanburh in 937 he broke the coalition that tried to tear the new kingdom apart. England was forged by blood, steel and the courage of our ancestors. We do not need permission to exist in our own homeland. My England for the English. England. True Grit. Restore. No apologies. No surrender.
