I just heard back from senior staff at Fairmont JPL:
"...We can confirm that the fire has reached the Fairmont #Jasper Park Lodge grounds, however, we are unclear on the extent of damage. At this time, we know that parts of the resort remain untouched."

This is so horrifying for all the residents of Jasper, and all those who were evacuated in such emergent circumstances. This is also horrifying for the literally hundreds of thousands of Albertans who share decades of joyful memories in this special special place. No matter what, Albertan will be there for Jasper.
All of our thoughts are with our fellow Albertans and visitors evacuated from Jasper National Park. At times like this, I am deeply grateful that we live in a place where first responders and public servants are always there to protect us. Thank you for everything.
And for those evacuated and directly affected by the fires, please know your community is there to support you no matter what. Please keep up with official channels and follow all directions. Let’s keep everyone safe and get folks home as soon as possible.
