Mokoena is easily one of our most talented midfielders of all time. Even so, maintaining our team's rhythm and consistency had to come first. Disrupting that flow by starting him was, in my opinion, our single biggest mistake of the match.
Orlando Pirates controlled 64% of the ball, dictating the tempo for much of the match despite the rain-soaked conditions in Polokwane. While the Buccaneers created more opportunities, their conversion was late.
Orlando Pirates: 13 total shots, 4 on target.

"If they can continue playing like this, I don’t see them winning the championship.
“If they will play the way they played today, and not knowing that, maybe our tactical aspect, or our tactical acumen were spot on.
"Maybe we planned very well for them and that is why they struggled with us today. But with the performance that they did today I don’t see them becoming the champions."
On January 17, 2026, Pitso Mosimane publicly celebrated Rhulani Mokwena winning the Algerian Super Cup with MC Alger, stating that Mokwena would eventually be "better than me"
Hypocrisy or just a change of heart? Pitso was all smiles when Rhulani won in Algeria. 🤔
🚨Pitso Mosimane said🗣
All this is pointing to Orlando Pirates and their Coach.
Winning the Mtn 8 and NedBank Cup doesn't mean you are the best coach or your team is ready to challenge for bigger trophies"
You know, you can come to South Africa and you win the top eight which is only what three games. Then you think you are the best and your team has turned the corner"
Nedbank is four games. You can play three first-division teams by luck of the draw, you’re in the final and win it. I think the only thing that judges you as a coach is the league, it’s the league"
Thank GOD you are not the coach tjeses that is the weakest line up

I don't mind whether they start with Makgopa or Radiopane, it makes no much difference, but I want Appollis to start. I want Rele in there
