This #SuicidePreventionDay, we'll be sharing some resources and techniques that we've found helpful to help us get through tougher times.
First up is @calmharmapp, which is a really good app for preventing self harm and distracting from suicidal thoughts 🌊

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
We know that it can be scary talking to someone about their suicidal feelings, but it really can make a difference.
We've put together some tips to help. #WSPD2020

It’s #WorldSuicidePreventionDay tomorrow, so we’re asking journalists to remember our Media Guidelines for Reporting Suicide.
Evidence shows that the way suicide is reported really matters. Please keep it safe #WSPD2020 bit.ly/2Xh1b2q

Brilliant said @KeepInMindCam 👉
Often when we talk about #MentalHealth, we concentrate on depression and anxiety. Whilst that's good, it's not enough.
.... we must include ‘schizophrenia and psychosis - otherwise we'll never break the stigma’

Our activism must include those with mental health problems like schizophrenia and psychosis - otherwise we'll never break the stigma.

Men are less likely to seek help for mental health problems, and suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. That's why it's great to see football clubs and organisations prioritising mental health. bit.ly/39JkjeL

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses, and their causes are complex. Not all people with eating disorders struggle with body image, and not all people with eating disorders restrict their food intake #eatingdisorders #EDmyths

For those of us with mental health problems, some of us may find masks feel very hard to cope with. But there are things you could try to help make the experience more manageable. (1/5)

Calorie counting is not healthy, and shouldn’t be promoted, especially on this large a scale. Many people that struggle with eating disorders and/or body image issues find calorie labelling on menu’s and in shops harmful and potentially triggering so why is this being endorsed?!
Restaurants, cafes and takeaways currently don't provide calorie information on food they serve.
We want to support diners to make healthier choices when eating out.
We will consult on mandating calorie labelling for all large out-of-home venues & businesses.

Bit late to this, but yesterday was #InternationalSelfCareDay and especially in current times it’s so important you take time out for you- read a book, meditate, watch your favourite film, go on a walk, anything that will help you switch off. 1/2 – at Monifieth, Scotland

📢Face coverings are mandatory in shops from tomorrow. For people living with mental illness, this can be quite a daunting step.
Where possible always wear a face covering in shops. But never challenge someone who isn't wearing one.
Remember: not all disabilities are visible 👇
It's not possible for people with certain conditions to wear a face covering. Please me mindful that not all disabilities are visible.
See guidance 👇🏼
