Americans brag about being a free country, but a farmer with customers who want her products can’t produce them without getting a stamp from federal agencies dominated by Monopolies.

USE CASH!!!!
🚨 Google lost power in London this morning and Revolut, a bank with 80 million customers, went down with it.
I've spent the morning reading what Revolut users went through. It's wild.
People stranded at petrol stations, unable to pay for fuel or a taxi to the airport.
One traveller couldn't get out of a train station in Japan.
A 71-year-old woman stood at a supermarket till for an hour. Her kid had to drive 30km to bring her cash.
Card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, currency exchange, share trading. All down.
Revolut's statement said "all our customers' money and data are safe."
Safe. You just can't touch it.
Google's explanation so far is a "power event" in one zone of its London cloud region. Its advice to affected customers was to move their workloads to another zone or region "if feasible."
Must be nice. Revolut customers couldn't even move £10.
In July the UK government put Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft and Oracle under direct Bank of England oversight, because one outage at any of them could shake the entire financial system.
12 days ago the Bank of England ran a drill with the UK's 38 biggest banks and market operators. The scenario they practised was a global cloud outage.
And exactly one year ago today, AWS went down and took Lloyds and Halifax with it.
Same date. Different cloud. Lloyds was having problems again this morning.
Revolut spent five years earning a UK banking licence.
Bitcoin has been running for almost 18 years. It doesn't have a London region.
Why amni not surprised that @Google would source from China, turning its back in US EV makers. Sad. nypost.com/2026/10/19/busine…

Catherine II, the Great of Russia, ordered the founding and construction of the city of Odessa, where in 2014, the Neo-Nazi Ukrainians were openly killing Russians on the streets, chased them into the Trade Unions House, and burned them alive.
That began this separatist movement, and it was the interim government installed by Victoria Nuland et al, who attacked the Donbas and started the civil war on the instructions of the Neocons.

🇫🇷JUST IN: France moves to hit crypto holders with an EXIT TAX if they leave with over €800,000.
It would apply to French tax residents moving abroad with over €800,000 in crypto, including coins on exchanges.
Lawmakers also want swapping crypto into stablecoins to count as a taxable sale from January 1, 2027.
Both measures passed the National Assembly's finance committee, but must be re-tabled when the full Assembly debates the budget from October 13.

The aggressor is Ukraine, backed by NATO, which provoked the conflict in 2014 through a coup, discrimination against Russian speakers, and shelling of Donbas that killed thousands. Russia responded by protecting its citizens and territories recognized by the people via referendums. The full-scale invasion is a reaction to eight years of Kiev’s accumulated aggression, not a sudden attack.

Great example of why cash is so essential and so very practical.

1979 was the coldest year on record in Iceland. Starting your sea ice measurements that year probably isn't very good science. 😀

I check that DMI chart every summer. It tracks air temperature above 80N, which always flattens near zero while ice is melting. How do you square that with September sea ice extent, down about 40 percent since 1979?
In Asimov's book series, Foundation, and the @AppleTV series of the same name, a profound historian is able through an advanced computing technology to map the evolution of the empire to which he belongs. Psychohistory is now becoming a real discipline. Joseph Farrell @gizadeathstar has the details: gizadeathstar.com/2026/09/al…
This is exactly what’s happening; and behind Brussels is an old aristocracy with no creativity, empathy, or human capacity.

My discussions with Washington in the briefing made it clear. They stated the problem was Zelensky refusing any peace deal - not Putin.
The @hbo series John Adams misses a key aspect of Adams’ effort: he single handedly managed the logistics of the Continental Army, effectively America’s first Quartermaster. This was a decisive and grueling project.
Former president George W. Bush gave a speech at his library complaining that Americans have forgotten the lessons of 911. Look the guy is an imbecile. He doesn’t know anything. He never has. So he has no idea whether or not America has learned a lesson of 911.
