I’m still getting used to this...but I’m the editor and publisher of The Courier-Times. It’s crazy how plans can change in a blink of an eye. ❤️
I'm the editor and publisher (and former sports editor) of my hometown weekly and as long as I'm at this newspaper, we will devote time and resources to covering high school sports at a high level. If that means that we're the last dinosaur standing, that's fine with me.

Our #12 (22) @LeahGriffin2028 and her teammates were tied 8-8 in the 7th inning of game 3 elimination game in the NC 2A State Playoffs Regional Finals when she hits this 3 run 💣 to put Roxboro up 11-8 and send them to the State Finals! That was a heck of a 3 game series!
Very cool of @cowgirlsb @karligodwin2 to offer well wishes to Roxboro Community School’s Karrie Obie before tonight’s playoff game. Obie tied Godwin’s single-season home run record a few games ago and belted No. 21 tonight.
Roxboro Community School junior Karrie Obie just belted home run No. 21 of the season! @NCHSAA
ICYMI last night, Roxboro Community School softball player Karrie Obie tied the @NCHSAA single-season home run record with her 20th 💣 in a conference title clinching victory against Vance Charter.
I had to break it to Matthew that @JohnCena was a bad guy! Little dude was less than pleased.
BREAKING NEWS: The Person County Veterans Council announced today that Roxboro/Person County is one of 31 communities nationwide that will host the Walls that Heal, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica exhibit in 2025. The Walls that Heal will be on display May 1-3.
I’m pretty sure I was the former staff member of The (UNCG) Carolinian who was expected to write an article about where politics and professional wrestling intersect. But…Joe is the true limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’ son of a gun…if you wiiiiill.
Pro wrestling is a world built on fabulous stories and the suspension of disbelief. The Republican gubernatorial candidate’s lifelong love of the sport explains much of what you need to know about his political rise and fall. #NCPol #MarkRobinson

This is from in between Bethel Hill Charter School and Tunnel Creek Vineyards.
Maybe a brief touchdown northeast of Bethel Hill looking toward Mayo Lake?

Sideshow Phil and @JZ_Graham…your new Megapowers
I’d go one better, trade out of No. 1 to NE or Washington and get that haul including this year’s No. 2 or 3…and then trade that for another haul of picks to a team that covets one of the other QBs.
Turn that top pick into a handful of impact players.
Let's just play out this scenario, if the Chicago Bears decide to TRADE OUT of the No. 1 overall pick...
1. They get a HAUL for trading out of No. 1 because either the Commanders or Patriots get Caleb Williams
2. Bears then draft Marvin Harrison Jr
3. Justin Fields is already very popular with his teammates, many of them want him to stay on & steer the ship
4. Tyson Bagent was considered one of the best backups in the NFL this past season
5. Bears end up with:
QB1 Justin Fields
QB2 Tyson Bagent
RB1 D'Andre Swift
RB2 Khalil Herbert
WR1 DJ Moore
WR2 Marvin Harrison Jr
WR3 Maybe somebody like Tyler Boyd?
TE1 Cole Kmet
TE2 Gerald Everett
Is that a freakin' all-star team? 👀👀👀

I’m here at the Coliseum as Person’s Trevquan Gary and Taveon Moss compete in the 3A state tournament.
Gary’s heavyweight semifinal against Franklinton’s Landon Michael is coming up soon.

Breaking from ACC basketball tip-off: Kyle Filipowski, upon question from @mzcarolinablitz about his go-to Bojangles' order, said he's more of a Popeye's man. Did say he heard Bojangles had "some good bread."
Biscuits?
Yeah, biscuits, Filipowski said. "I'm from the north."
