I made it through Donner Summit a couple hours ago. Parking lot for 2 hours west of Boreal, but at least I got thru. Tomorrow's lunch was tonight's dinner. No jacknifes visible east of Donner Summit.

Wow, currently 70 gusting over 80! Relative humidity down to 13%. I guess extreme weather is the new normal.
Looks more like snow than fire on Mount Saint Helena this hour! Wax up your boards #Calistoga...

Dang... Heads up #Calistoga. Or as firefighters like to say, head on a swivel.
This is the fire weather forecast I was hoping wouldn't come to pass, given all that has already transpired in 2020: Very strong offshore winds, coupled w/exceptionally low humidity & record-dry vegetation, will bring extremely critical wildfire risk Sun/Mon. 1/3 #CAwx #CAfire
Wow, seeing a new low relative humidity on Mt. St. Helena this evening: 7%! Good thing much of the fuel up there burned weeks ago in the #GlassFire. How are things in #Calistoga tonight?
Wow, still blowing in the 40s on MtStH, all night long, out of the NNE, with RH at 19%. I shudder to think what might have happened in #Calistoga had these winds showed up as forecast two weeks ago during #GlassFire.

Wow, strong winds all night long on Mount Saint Helena. Low RH, avg 20%. Regional picture less dramatic.
Winds on MtStH in the high teens from N, with RH in the mid 20s. Not bad. Regional winds not bad either. 70*F in #Calistoga. Fingers crossed Red Flag was simply abundance of caution by @NWSBayArea. Massive PSPS it seems.
Hey #Calistoga weather geeks, pausing from dealing with Santa Cruz fire recovery to check on Wx with our new Red Flag. Oh joy. Mt. St. Helena blowing mid 30's NNE. Thank God we didn't get that 2 weeks ago! RH 44%, waaay above what we saw during crux of #glassfire. Stay safe!

For you weather geeks, see the current winds. THAT's an onshore flow. Key to clearing out smoke, lowering temps, raising humidity, etc. Second is the relative humidity on MtStH. It hit a staggering low of 7% this morning! Currently 24%. Very, very dry. #Calistoga #GlassFire

Setting a back burn. Sometimes the patterns they "draw" are interesting. Zig zag, lawn mower, serpentine, etc.
Vallejo Firefighters put in long overnight hours on the #GlassFire, participating in a firing plan that helped improve control lines near HWY-128. The blaze is now 15% contained and has burned 63,450 acres. @KTVU @szendehnam @vjotimesherald
1 week ago this morning the #GlassFire started. What a week! Here in #Calistoga currently, OAT 55*F, AQI decent (see below), winds calm, smokey smell, and a few stars still visible. Winds on the Mtn light, from NNW, RH VERY low (9%), and regional winds very light. Go Cal Fire!

I'm departing #Calistoga in the AM. My family barely remembers my name, and I have tree fallers on Monday helping me drop the burned/dead trees on my Santa Cruz property. Plus I'm out of Snickers, a Big Red Flag event for me! Hoping for a great Sunday dawn. #GlassFire go home.

Thanks for all your replies. I've really enjoyed being boots on the ground for everyone. Fingers crossed for an uneventful conclusion to the #GlassFire for all who love #Calistoga.

#Calistoga update: temps reached 102*F today, as winds kicked up, and the "convection oven effect" tripped new Red Flag, IMHO. OAT currently 72*F, and winds calm. Lots of blue sky today, balmy evening, air quality EXCELLENT (sub 50). Distant air ops, few overhead. #GlassFire.

Winds on the mountain high teens gusting to 30. Slightly above last night's speeds. From the NNW. Sunday temps in #Calistoga should be less than today's scorcher. Regional winds generally N/NW/W and single digits now, teens on the mtn and Healdsburg hills area. #GlassFire
