We have been flagging the danger of Ireland’s over-exposure to river water for years: this clip is 5 years olds. For years #IrishWater has tried to claim we were wrong. The latest judgment from the ECJ - and the cancer risk that people have been exposed to - proves we aren’t.
Dublin's 99% reliance on RIVERS for its water is not prudent, not necessary and not international best practice. #IrishWater has no plan to fix this - in fact, its current strategy will compound it. Any thoughts @MurphyEoghan, as responsible Minister? #BoilWaterNotice #rtept

The 3 biggest problems at Dublin’s taps: - brown water - dangerous water - no water Over a million Dubliners have faced at least one of these issues in the past 5 years Every one was caused by either: (1) the state of the pipes, or (2) river as the water source. ⁦@rtenews

Mat cooper and Ivan Yates also made widely inaccurate comments recently, about the Judicial Review and ABP case I was involved with on Uisce Eireanns Greater Dublin Drainage Sewage Plant off Malahide Road. If he’s a mouthpiece for UI they are feeding him nonsense.
No, @cooper_m I have not “argued against the Shannon water pipeline crossing my husband’s family farm”. Not once. I have been fighting the Shannon-Dublin pipeline because it is wasteful and WRONG. Fix Dublin’s leaking pipes for all our sakes. #BrownIrishWater @irishdailymail

Dear @GeorgeLeeRTE - you never asked. What % of Dublin’s pipes is Irish Water replacing per year? The answer is 0.3% - it needs to be 2-3%. At 0.3% it will be 330 years before some of Dublin’s pipes are even touched.
Replying to @rtenews
The only question that matters was not asked once in George Lee’s 3-day mission: What % of Dublin’s pipes is Irish Water replacing per year? The answer is 0.3% - it needs to be 2-3%. At 0.3% it will be 330 years before some of Dublin’s pipes are even touched. @rtenews @rte

In the past 5 years well over a million Dubliners have faced a major water crisis - often for days on end. Not one of those was caused by a lack of raw water. The vast majority were caused by the pipes bursting. The remainder were because Dublin gets its water from risky rivers

29 days of rainfall in some areas. Rainfall totals in March were above their long-term averages in the majority of Irish weather stations, according to provisional data from Met Éireann. We need to talk about Irish Water mismanagement.

Report finds 17.2% of Irish bladder cancer was caused by THMs, a chemical found in Irish water that is strongly linked to RIVERS. Ireland gets more water from rivers than any other EU country. 99% of Dublin's water is from rivers. #GE2020 #IrishWater medscape.com/viewarticle/923…

Just so people know the truth: when #IrishWater claims it’s leakage is only (!) 38%, this is NOT total leakage. It does not include a single drop of leakage from households or their supply pipes. TOTAL leakage is still close to 50%. This is far, far from normal. #FixThePipes
Quangoed Uisce Eireann #IrishWater admits it will be another six years before Europe's wettest country no longer holds the record for losing the most water to broken. #not1pipe #HowIrelandWorks

Uisce Éireann ‘taking advice’ on warnings to over 220,000 people about presence of toxic chemicals The ruling would at least appear to oblige Uisce Éireann to notify nearly a quarter of a million people of the risks associated with their supplies. Asked if it intended to do so, the utility company replied: “We are taking the decision under advisement at this time.” #IrishWater #IrelandisBroken irishtimes.com/environment/2…

If #IrishWater replaced the decrepit, leaky pipes in line with international best practice (at least 1.2% a year) we wd never have to read this unfathomable headline again. But it replaces just 0.3% - so some pipes won’t be touched for another 300 years. irishtimes.com/news/ireland/…

The way the planning system of pay to observe is set up I generally only make objections, I’d love to be able to give an “I support this development” observation to those I like but can’t afford the €20-€230 euros to do so. The system is geared to amplify nays over yays 1/2

Dublin’s pipes are a dog’s dinner. Ancient cast iron, asbestos cement, PVC, even wood. That’s what leaves people without water on a regular basis. The only way to get Dublin a reliable, quality water supply is to replace the pipes. The Shannon pipe won’t fix that. #FixThePipes
The Newstalk coverage yesterday of Irish Water’s Shannon-to-Dublin pipeline plan painted a divisive picture: Dublin vs Everyone Else. This is populist and inaccurate. Please watch this video for the real story. @NewstalkFM #IrishWater @NTBreakfast ⁦@TheHardShoulder⁩
