I was once a card carrying member of the “I don’t know, but I’m certain I do” club.
And it led to a lot of false confidence and failure. Invisible misery and unfulfilled potential.
Pursuing acting - being rejected 2,000+ times taught me an invaluable lesson.
Invest in Physical Integrity (lower brain subconscious for real - not pretend) and you can handle anything with the confidence to stay true to yourself.
Overcoming the Fear of Failure is how you set yourself up to Win at Life.
I share my journey / the good - the bad - the vulnerable and personal - on the path to understanding the fundamentals and how to coax my “nervous” system into a fundamentally confident system.
If want a deeper profound understanding of what Balance actually is… to increase your capacity to express all aspects of your strengths sustainably - this book is for you.
Take it from someone who was shunned by the establishment (probably more than anyone) who harnessed my indignation and rage productively into innovation that serves all (both training and tools).
Winning at life is essentially experiencing more joy and less pain. And contributing to the wellbeing and success of others.
Difficult times can and will strike at any moment.
If I had remained a card carrying member of the “I don’t know, but I’m certain I do” club - my life would be a net failure compared to what it is now.
The reality is many people want you to fail so they can “succeed”. Lose/Lose is less Win.
And look at the world today. More than ample resources to help all 8+ billion yet 3+ billion live in squalor. And too many of those blessed to “live well” are stuck in the zero sum game mentality that truly helps no one.
Even the true winners can win bigger.
The powers that be in this world - the only recourse we have is to be independent autonomous creatures who fundamentally trust ourselves.
If you walk even slightly out of balance - the silent invisible erosion of confidence shackles you harder and harder to the “certainty” that steadily erodes your confidence while you’re too busy clenching your teeth in denial. Being “strong”.
The solutions are far simpler than you think.
The fundamentals never change. Master the fundamentals and you give yourself the greatest odds of Winning at Life.
It’s called “Every Step Stronger” for a reason.
Thanks @TheDavidWeck … New book just arrived, can’t wait to start reading it!
You may be searching for one huge reason you’re here, while missing what life is asking of you right now.
Sometimes purpose is simply helping with what is directly in front of you.
Retirement forced me to face a future I couldn’t see yet.
Plant medicine helped me trust the process, follow my intuition, and keep moving even before I knew where it would lead.
After depression, addiction, and a suicide attempt, I had to decide what came next.
MMA gave me a place to rebuild, get grounded, and start taking care of myself again.
Meditation gave me space inside the chaos.
With a clearer mind, I became more productive, more resilient, and more present as a husband and father.
I used to struggle to meditate.
Over time, plant medicine and meditation taught me something deeper, how to sit with a question without forcing an answer.
If the system pushes you toward distraction, isolation and disconnection, go the other way.
Build real relationships, deepen your faith and choose the life that makes you stronger.
You can believe in a higher, nondual reality without using it to excuse cruelty.
Some acts still demand that you recognize the harm and choose to stand against it.
