Someone made a great point: Labour increased debt due to the pressing need of Covid (Robertson's budgets all had smaller deficits than Willis's, bar Covid) But he INCREASED GDP. Willis increases debt by more but is DECREASING GDP. That's why things are so shit now

NZ Govt charges same Road User Charge on a small electric car as it charges a giant 3.5 tonne diesel SUV. Giant cars cause more road damage, injuries and deaths to pedestrians, cyclists and children, more climate and air pollution. It is a bizarre subsidy and it needs to change.

The University student rep on Breakfast this morning did a sterling job of criticizing the Coalition's decision to abolish free fees for third year Uni students, mentioning twice the very questionable tax relief (in the billions) given to wealthy landlords and tobacco companies.
