The algorithm keeps showing me videos of submechanophobia and they are so similar to my recurring nightmares that one made me audibly yelp and turn off my phone screen. Deep, dark water with large things in it is such a specific phobia of mine but it really is a severe one for me

It's almost relieving to see other people are frightened of it too. I can't really explain it but it literally makes me start shaking and panicking. And of course I always knew it was an irrational fear but I still can't stop my response. Unreasonable terror.

I think partly it's just having so much unsolid space under my feet. I'm also not great with heights. But also it's just that dark water feels so ancient and terrifying. I don't know what's in there, but I know it could be so large that I am essentially meaningless to it
