Due to current power issues in the Fort Jones Valley area the Salmon/Scott River Ranger District office will be closed until stable power is restored. It is due to todays heavy wet snow. Forest Service staff will continue field work and are staffed to provide emergency response

In observance of MLK day, all Forest Service locations will be closed tomorrow, 1/20/25. Also, this day will be a fee-free day, meaning that standard amenity fees charged for day-use sites — like picnic areas, developed trailheads, and destination visitor centers — are waived.

KLAMATH NATIONAL FOREST Forest Order No. 24-05-10 Siskiyou Crest Seasonal Safety Closure Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and for the protection of public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Siskiyou Crest Vehicle Closure Area (the Area) along the Siskiyou Crest from Mount Ashland to Siskiyou Peak, as described in and illustrated on Exhibit A. This order is effective from January, Third, 2025, through January, Third, 2027. 1. Using a motorized vehicle including an over-the-snow vehicle off National Forest System roads within the Area at any time. 36 C.F.R. § 261.56. 2. Using a motorized vehicle including an over-the-snow vehicle on National Forest System roads within the Area at any time between November 15 and April 15. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(a.) 3. Using a motorized vehicle including an over-the-snow vehicle on National Forest System trails within the Area at any time. C.F.R. § 261.55(b.)
