Happy birthday to my wonderful book: Literature, Science, and Animal Advocacy in Canada! link.springer.com/book/10.10… I'm extra nostalgic & grateful today. It's safe to say that the #StudyAbroad programme between @UniofExeter and @Carleton_U changed my life. It was THE BEST decision!

I'm fascinated by the growth of video & tabletop RPGs about communities of 'realistic' anthropomorphic animals. There's so much to discuss here. I think I need to get writing (and playing!)🤔🕹️🐀 #animalstudies #animalsinmedia #animalsingames #cosygames #academicwriting

I remember seeing the co-operative hunting in #MyOctopusTeacher and wondering whether this kind of interspecies collaboration was more common that we had assumed. The lives of fishes and molluscs are far richer and more complex than we ever imagined #fishwelfare #octopuswelfare

Today, from my office in England, I'm finally reading one of Ernest Thompson Seton's journals held in the @AMNH. After writing about him for so many years, I'm now able to see his original notes and illustrations on the wild animals he encountered. 🧵
