Ghana 🇬🇭 President John Mahama says the stolen wealth of African countries via slavery is what the West still uses today to shape the global economy.
"Don’t tell me that if I stole your watch and later passed it on to my heir, it’s no longer a stolen item simply because the heir didn’t physically commit the theft.
"It remains stolen property."

First his killers were Afro American, then they were Dominican, then they say they are other Africans. We now found out that the bullies were Jamaican, but how tf is the type of black they are an issue when the issue is the Bronx having mass poverty and negligence from the city.
I don’t know who @espn was trying to please with its purge and rebranding of their NFL shows, but it is boring trash.

This is exactly the type of colonial psychology Frantz Fanon wrote about. Colonialism does not survive through force alone; it reproduces itself by creating colonized subjects who seek recognition and acceptance from the colonial power. Proximity to whiteness becomes confused with status, intelligence, civilization and legitimacy.
The empire has always enjoyed using a blackface to shield themselves from accountability. You repeat their history, defend the Empire’s innocence, and redirect attention toward Africans whenever their crimes are mentioned, hoping that defending Britain more aggressively than the British themselves will earn you a seat closer to whiteness.
Nobody denies that some African rulers participated in the slave trade. That does not erase Britain’s role in constructing, financing, insuring and profiting from an enormous Atlantic plantation economy, nor does it erase the wealth accumulated through slavery and colonial extraction afterward. “Africans sold Africans” is not serious historical analysis; it is a rhetorical escape hatch designed to absolve the empire.
Britain did not “end slavery” because it cared about the victims of chattel slavery. Them doing that does not cancel out the centuries in which British merchants, banks, ports, plantations and the state benefited from it. They went on to continue colonizing most of the Global South. An arsonist does not become innocent because he eventually helps extinguish the fire.
Fanon understood something that remains uncomfortable today: colonialism can outlive formal colonial rule because it colonizes the mind. Eventually the empire no longer needs to speak for itself. Some of the formerly colonized will volunteer to do it for them, measuring their own worth by how closely they can reproduce the worldview of the colonizer.
This bootlicking performance is so embarrassing. Defending the history of your former masters who colonized the country you come from.
Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.
Men whether they’re 15 or 50 find women in their early to mid-20s the most attractive because that is when they’re most fertile. It’s biological. That is also women can attract the best man they can get.
The UN being complicit in erasing the mass killings of non-combatant men and boys in conflict zones. Using gender discourse to manipulate public sentiment for imperial ends. What’s new.
Conflict places more of the care burden on women and girls' shoulders.
#Peace and security require more than their unpaid labor.
Women and girls must be at the heart of peacebuilding.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Men/boys are the large majority of combat deaths in conflicts — omitted. Boys also do care work — omitted. Saying women & girls must be “at the heart” of peacebuilding is prioritisation, not equality. Higher unpaid care ratios occur because men are dying or fighting.

Black Lives Matter was platformed and legitimized even though its founders argued for “disrupting” the natural family. People who supported that are in no position to lecture anyone about anti-blackness.

The crazy thing about this is that black women will project and say "black men date white women, white men don't want" when in reality black women date white men, white women don't want. Don't believe me? Watch this.

Been saying this. Black women fundamentally see black men as beneath them. They see themselves as better than and above black men simply for being a black woman, and they interact with us and expect us to interact with them on that basis. Socially, politically, romantically, etc
This one is spicy.
She’s saying Black women have a superiority complex and don’t even like Black men, they just want to control them. Want the title of “wife” but refuse to actually move like one. Always proving “I don’t need a man” while still expecting him to provide, plan, protect, and perform.
And the part that hits hardest:
“Y’all are raising the same men y’all claim to hate.”
Whether you agree or not, she’s saying the quiet part out loud.
Black men: Does this feel accurate or is she just talking?
Black women: Is she exposing something real or is this messy?
Be honest in the comments.

Black elders deserve this
China now has 82,000 senior canteens serving over 4 million elderly people every day!
Fresh, balanced meals average about 2 dollars, with extra help for those who need it!
They sit inside neighborhoods so seniors can eat together, or get delivery when they cannot leave home!
This is what happens when a country invests in caring for its people!

There is a reason the first thing serious liberation movements do is address education.
Amílcar Cabral said it.
Frantz Fanon said it.
Amílcar Cabral said the colonized must "return to the source," must recover historical identity not as nostalgia but as the specific foundation on which genuine independence becomes possible.
They were not being romantic.
They were being precise.
They understood that a people who do not know their own history cannot draw on it.
Cannot point to it and say:
We built things before you arrived. We will build things after you leave.
Cannot look at the condition the colonizer created and say with full confidence:
This was done to us. It is not what we are.
A people without that knowledge accepts the condition.
Does not demand the transformation.
Waits for permission from the people who designed the situation to fix it.
And the people who designed the situation are not going to fix it.

It’s not a Guatemalan migrant that made your housing more expensive. It’s your landlord, it’s hedge funds buying out all of these homes and rising up their prices. A transgender person is not the reason your energy costs are skyrocketing. It’s the wars we’re waging, the data centers sucking up the energy needs. This is just the truth”
