I have a real tendency to develop the Character into an entirely different way of writing because I frequently find better suited ways to parody them as I write them. Rose does still have quite a bit of Plot holes in her story but I'll patch them up with time.

Her personality slowly but surely became more appreciative of others, aligning a bit more with Amy's personality. Think of an Older Amy, like Frontiers. Due to how she grew up she shows her affection through means of combat. She doesn't show as much emotion like Amy.

Anyway with such a Tragic unfolding of events. Rose is forced right into the Role of Sonic, taking up a role as an " Inspirational Symbol of Resistance ", being The Commander of. Well, The Resistance. Facing off against NEO Sonic's forces and INFINITY for 3 years, if not more.

Now to actually answer your question, It all starts with Sonic Forces. Why? Sonic fuckin' DIES In Rose's universe Note : Knuckles never got tricked by Eggman in EX Zone so Sonic & Knuckles didn't happen which causes a whole different route of Story but again, some other time.

This single difference turns Rose into more of a Secondary Protagonist, like Zero in the Megaman Series. She wasn't anywhere near as Bubbly and Friendly as we know Amy to be. But thats to be expressed some other time like in a Classic Arc or something of the sort.

Well, she pops in on sudden notice during CD as the supposed Guardian of The Time Stones, fighting against Metal Sonic. Leaving Sonic to confront Eggman. This sets everything into changing as Metal from Rose's Universe viewed her as its sworn Nemesis as Eggman viewed Sonic.

In terms of origins Its pretty much the same time period : Sonic CD, however, as we know, Amy was captured by Metal Sonic, Rescued and soon to be Inspired by Sonic. Becoming a The Heroine figure we know who is romantically Interested in the Blue Blur. Now Rose on the otherhand.

Explaining Rose in contrast to Amy is one big ol' topic I'd have an easier time on Showing and not Telling with time. But I'll say on an Relationship/Personality standpoint the differences are noticable but not too far to where Its a whole different character. Unless with Sonic.
