During today's Mashujaa Day celebration at Kisumu KMTC, the @LBDAgov choir entertained guests and Kisumu residents.
The ceremony's chief guest, Kisumu County Commissioner Ramadan Mwabudzo, underscored the imperative for coordinated, multi-institutional public awareness efforts on peace and development amid the prevailing political climate.

@LBDAgov , @USTADI_Fndtn and @SafaricomFDN are proud to report the progress of Franklin Barasa (Bukhayo Central Ward, Nambale), a 2025 Wezesha III Agri-Eco Hub trainee who has grown from conventional smallholder to agribusiness operator.
Pre-intervention, farming followed community norms at KES 1,000โ2,000 per month. Today, vegetable sales earn KES 500โ700 per day, with a planned shift to improved seed varieties for higher margins.
๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐: sustained school enrolment, household food security, improved welfare and a new community benchmark. Franklin now mentors fellow youth in ongoing technical trainings, proof that Wezesha III is converting subsistence farming into a viable, replicable agribusiness pathway.

During her LBDA tour the PS @dr_karugu also Inspected the newly established poultry unit producing 500 crates of eggs per day, apart from using the facility as technology transfer to farmers she encouraged LBDA to comercialize it for sustainability.

While touring the rice mill plant the PS @dr_karugu emphasised the importance of supporting rice farmers within LBDA's area of jurisdiction and increasing rice production by utilisation and opening up of more land for farming at the Kimita Oluch Small Holder Irrigation Scheme.
