Lucy Letby is an innocent patsy ...who is in jail because of the failures of others. There is not one shred of evidence to show that she harmed any baby. She should be released immediately and allowed to get on with her life.

Implementing the Law Commission 2011 recommendations on expert evidence would probably solve most of the problems. If they had been implemented it's highly Lucy Letby would never be in prison and would never have been on trial.

" Natural causes of death can be absolutely ruled out"? Is this a conflict of cultures - the law vs. science? Where judges can be judged only by other judges on whether absolutely ruling out natural causes of death amounts to absolute proof of guilt beyond reasonable doubt - even where it is absolutely clear, even now, that legitimate doubt has been expressed by medical and statistical experts too eminent to be dismissed on the causes of death, ruling out murder?

Lessons from the past that remain unacknowledged, unexamined and unlearnt as the groupthink prevails, re-tracing old biases.

Mrs Cannings was wrongly convicted of baby murder. Releasing her, the appeal court warned that if the false reasoning of the prosecution was viewed as a legitimate form of argument by judges, more ‘abhorrent’ cases of gaoled innocents would follow—as has happened to Lucy Letby.

1/3 When you trace events chronologically through prenatal period, birth, obstetric notes, & neonatal notes, every clinical detail acts as a stepping stone. By the time you reach the nurse at the incubator, the collapse is explained by natural causes +/- sub-optimal care. #Letby

The assumptions that it had to be Actrapid in the fluids & not eg Humulin I intramuscularly or s/c, had to be added in shift before and had to be Letby are all wrong. youtu.be/whAYdUubMKw?is=eRVJ… – at South Ballachulish, Scotland

The sticky insulin theory was only brought in for Baby L who was receiving a dextrose solution via IV. The allegation was that Letby injected these dextrose bags with insulin, except that 2 new bags were hung after she'd gone off shift for a few days. It wasn't part of the Baby F case because the giving sets are always changed with a new TPN bag. That's where the tamper-evident seal on the stock bag comes in.

It's a great pity the jury didn't get to hear such a coherent summary. Johnson tied himself up in knots over the second bag, and Myers was asleep at the wheel. Somehow Letby managed to do the impossible and nobody even noticed. Tragic.

No the bag was never kept or tested because no one ever suspected there was an issue with it. It's more of a tab than a cap and it has to be broken completely off. The nurses hanging the bag could not have failed to notice it was broken - it would have fallen out of the cellophane bag when they opened it! There's no need to ask the nurses if they noticed anything. They wouldn't have used the bag with no safety seal. Here's a video about it: youtu.be/AZmIaIg5zZU

Have you looked at Child Y, the never-charged insulin case? Higher insulin test than F or L. Never charged: not originally, not on retrial, not in recent efforts to bring new charges. Must be that Letby can't be blamed, logistically. Shows test has false positives.

In ten months of trial, nobody asked the two nurses who hung Baby F's second bag whether its tamper-evident seal was intact. That bag was running when the only insulin sample was taken. Thanks to Guy Rowland for pointing me at it. View article

Baby C #Letby Guilty of Murder by air down NG tube Baby had untreated bowel obstruction If air down NG had splinted the diaphragm, how could the baby breathe for 5 hours before death without respiratory support? @CPMorris1234 @RPattTheSun @MartynPitman – at South Ballachulish, Scotland

Baby D #Letby Guilty of Murder by Air Embolism Straightforward, Baby D died of medical mismanagement. Mother needed antibiotics 24 hrs after waters broke, not given, so baby had pneumonia in utero, badly treated after birth, died. Post Mortem showed pneumonia & no air embolism – at South Ballachulish, Scotland

There were dual time pressures on the Cons to 'pique the interest' of Cheshire Police; to deflect away from #LucyLetby's condemning grievance outcome against them and also to prevent further Coronial investigation of other indictment cases. The egregious plan worked. On both counts
