Liverpool must sign a new left-back in January. No excuses from the board this time. Tsimikas and Kerkez are simply not giving us the consistency we need in that position. When one plays, I find myself wishing the other was on the pitch. Neither has done enough to convince me that we have a reliable solution at left-back. Kerkez might be a good player, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to see him as the right fit for Liverpool. The problems in that position are there for everyone to see. We cannot keep pretending everything is fine. If Liverpool are serious about competing at the highest level, we need a reliable left-back who can genuinely improve this team.
