I have been asked about places you can give in support of #Ukraine right now. For starters, there's a helpful list created by The Ukraine Crisis Media Center: uacrisis.org/en/help-ukraine. More suggestions in this thread. 1/5

Pssst, Vancouver... Every solstice, our ensemble puts together a 15 minute show - a fable, some tunes, a little hope - to bring to the doorsteps of our neighbours. The shows are free. Sign up here for Oct 15 and 16: docs.google.com/forms/d/1iSQ…

If you have a piece printed in the Globe that refers to us as "Canada's Indigenous people" despite actual Indigenous people painstakingly explaining for literal years that we do NOT belong to Canada, I don't think you get racial politics the way you think you do.

As an Indigenous person in this country I’m just going to flat out say this week is going to exhaust many of us.
I’m limiting socials & interactions w/ folx outside of community.
Awareness is great but comes at a cost. Be gentle interacting as this resurfaces trauma for many.
Ranks as one of the best experiences of my life. Thank you @VSOrchestra. The goosebumps of pride when the conductor mentioned hometown hero @realmikefox

(Real quick, abortion isn't always a "tough choice" or "heartbreaking" and that framing is so weird. Sometimes it's a miracle and a no-brainer and a straightforward healthcare decision for everyone involved. Abortion is healthcare and a human right.)

This #Juneteenth, we celebrate the emancipation of Black Americans & reflect on their activism pushing our nation towards its founding ideals.
From the ballot box to housing, employment, & more — we must continue working for equal justice. The march towards freedom continues.

Dear Theatre venues ~ as you prepare to open in the next year, I encourage you to think about accessibility. I want you to think about seats with no arms being available. Because your tiny seat from 1968 does not fit all. And theatre should be accessible to all.
