This tells me there is consolidation to long-term holders. I'm still of the opinion that the game needs more, varied cards to enable truly competitive play and think the new tournament format will cater to that given it's choose-your-entry rather than league-based. Having those concurrent, multi-entry tournaments increasing the amount of soft-locked cards will allow for the team to keep more cards off the market (read: less sell pressure), which means the entire ecosystem could handle more injected cards. More cards at higher velocity is better for the game economy. More things to do for players, more fees for the team to funnel back as rewards and more incentives for heroes to interact and promote the protocol. The gold rush these next few weeks will also help.
