The LTWP Board is pleased to welcome Ms. Esther Koimett, CBS, as our new Chairperson! Ms. Koimett helped open Kenya’s energy sector to private investment, paving the way for power producers like us. She led landmark national deals, including the KenGen and Safaricom IPO listings. Having served in top leadership in government, she now chairs M-Pesa Holdings and AAR Insurance Kenya and sits on the boards of Car & General and Kenya Airways. She brings decades of experience to our mission of powering Kenya with clean energy. We look forward to her leadership as we keep the turbines turning in Loiyangalani, producing electricity for Kenyan homes and businesses. Meet the Pioneer Winds of Change Scholarship Fund Class of 2026! On Thursday, 20th August, we hosted the official induction ceremony for the WoC pioneer cohort right here at our wind farm. These 25 young minds from Laisamis Constituency are stepping into their fully funded TVET and College journeys, preparing to join various institutions around the country. We were honoured to have Paul Russo, Group Chief Executive Officer of @KCBInKenya Group PLC, and a proud son of Laisamis, as our Chief Guest. He motivated the scholars by sharing his own inspiring life journey, encouraging them to work hard and proving that with determination, there are no limits to what they can achieve. The scholars were encouraged to stay grounded and connected with their community, to always come back and serve their communities. Mr. Russo was joined by the Managing Director, KCB Foundation, Ms. Mendi Njonjo, Marsabit County Director of Education, among other leaders from Marsabit. This session gave them a strong start with guidance, mentorship, and inspiration as they prepare to start their tertiary education journey this September in various top institutions across the country. Why TVET? Because real skills build strong futures. When designing the Winds of Change Scholarship Fund, we wanted to ensure our support leads directly to real employment and self-reliance. While there are many bursaries for secondary education in Laisamis Constituency, access to tertiary and technical training has remained a major gap. To address this, we prioritized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) aligned with top-demand industries: * Building & Construction (Masons, Plumbers) * Electrical & Electronics Engineering * Automotive Engineering * Welding & Fabrication * Diploma in Primary Teacher Education By equipping our youth with high-demand practical skills, we are not just funding education — we are investing in long-term employability, local economic growth, and self-employment opportunities right here in Marsabit County. #WhyTVET #WindsOfChange #SkillsForFuture #LTWP #VocationalTraining #marsabitcounty

UPDATE: The selection process for the WoC Scholarship Fund applications is ongoing. The Ward-Level Committees and the WoC Committee have been reviewing the applications received; our goal is to finalise and communicate the results to the successful beneficiaries at the end of July.
