The funny thing is the DA will still blame the ANC for the lack of service delivery in their areas and y’all will eat it up

The lone EFF voter of Orania is still alive
FF Plus wins Orania — the DA takes 44 votes and the ACDP 5 at the town hall station, while the EFF gets 1 and the ANC none. #LGE2026 #Orania #Elections2026

Hm. Danny boy. Can you explain how exactly it’s monopoly when in reality the ANC was democratically elected by South Africans en masse?
The old South Africa is gone. Yesterday's South Africa has departed. The defining factor of the first 32 years, ANC monopoly, is over. A new South Africa is emerging, with many parties wrestling over our future. Democracy is alive and well. Now we will see. To 2029, and beyond

One thing I appreciate is how brazen capitalism is, these next 2 years are only going to get more expensive and I want black liberals to look in the mirror and ask themselves "Why is it so easy for me to vote against my own interests"

The DA couldn’t even sort fix the violence in Cape Flats let alone provide basic needs in black townships, mara Sipho is convinced they have his best interests at heart because yena o dula ko flateng ya go ba le balcony.

these numbers are honestly shameful. we need a serious national conversation about voter apathy and what it will take to get people to understand that democracy requires participation. we cannot keep treating voting as optional and then complain about the state of the country.
Over 40 million people are eligible to vote in South Africa, only 29.2 million are registered to vote and out of that 13.5 million voted. 😔

I'll never understand admitting that you align with EFF but vote against your own interests because of immigration
EFF could have been what ActionSA is today if that arrogant guy from Seshego decided to listen to our cries, stop with the arrogance and his fantasies about illegal immigrants.

Everyone else wants to continue the status quo of the WMC. EFF is the only credible threat to the status quo.
Why every political party is against the EFF?what is it that they are scared of ? Everyone is decampaigning the EFF even the newly formed parties are in it just to fight the EFF.

in the words of the great philosopher @nikkyyy124 how can they want a Mamdani when they hate Muslims (they were crying about halal foods) and immigrants (Abahambe) when Mamdani’s identity represents both?
you guys were lying through your teeth when you said you wanted a Mamdani in Johannesburg lmao

insert what Steve Biko said about white liberals

disappointed as i may be by these results, the parties that campaigned by trojan-horsing their bigotry against undocumented migrants will be hit with major constitutional roadblocks and those who voted for them will see that they were campaigning on nothing but hate and on a problem they had no pragmatic solutions for.

I seem to recall the EFF fighting against the VAT increase, pushing to end data expiry from telecommunications providers, tabling the Insourcing Bill, and tabling the Student Debt Cancellation Bill—all since the 2024 elections . Yet because they don't sing "abahambe," you claim they aren't prioritizing South Africans? Ehh
EFF is finding out in real time that South Africans want to be prioritised.

Yeah I don’t think the EFF needs to stop protecting migrants to gain votes. I like their message- and there are some it resonates with and others not so much and that’s okay.

I think what people need to understand is that, even if EFF would drop to 1%, they will not change their policies for populist ones.
With the results trickling in, I hope the EFF takes a step back and does some serious introspection. I love the EFF and have voted for them in every election until yesterday. Sometimes lessons need to be learnt. South Africans want to feel prioritised. It’s really that simple.
