Last week, I released a statement regarding the thousands of dollars which were stolen from my campaign on the eve of the election. Still, legal and police authorities are investigating this crime, but we remain undeterred in standing up to the Epstein Class and preserving our independence. We are still in the process of raising $25,000. I’m happy to say we’ve crossed the first $10,000 in our initiative, and we need you to help us keep going! Because of your help, we’ve been able to print new material, new lawn signs, while distributing this material across the Bronx and gathering new supporters! We’re asking you to do two things:  1.) Come out and help us! We’re asking for people to be visible at the early voting polling sites handing out our material and speaking with voters. 2.) Help us reach our goal of $25,000 by helping us get to the last $15,000 before the end of this week. This will ensure we can keep pushing and going without lagging behind. I’ve been under assault in one way or another by the forces of the Epstein Class for the past year. I have been opposed to their relentless wars in Ukraine, Iran, and Gaza. Any day now, we may see a resumption of hostilities against Iran by Israel, in which the U.S. will be drawn into another needless attack against that nation. Yet, the people of the world, namely in the Global South—Africa, Asia, and South America—are speaking out against this imperial aggression, and are demanding that economic development be seen as a human right, and that a disarming peace supersedes military might.  Across the world, there are developments signalling the growing strength of this international call for peace. From President Lula’s resounding victory over the candidate Flavio Bolsonaro—which the Trump Administration, Wall Street, and the City of London had desperately wanted to win—to the interfaith gathering in Assisi, Italy, where 80 religious leaders opened and discussed the concept of a “disarmed and disarming peace.” My campaign is not only being heard from those in the Bronx, but in countries around the world. In the past 48 hours, thousands of dollars have been stolen from the Vega Congressional campaign through credit card fraud. As of now, legal and police authorities are now investigating. This is just the latest of several “dirty tricks” tried against my campaign in the course of the last year. I believe these attacks come from the Epstein Class, who are an influential portion of the support base of Congressman Ritchie Torres. Arch-Zionist Ritchie Torres, who refuses to denounce the genocide in Gaza, has taken $2,135,070 from AIPAC, and makes as much as $100,000 by accruing interest in his campaign account from donations he receives each year. We may be seeing, any day now, a resumption of hostilities by Israel against Iran, with the United States drawn into another pointless, murderous assault on that nation. Is Ritchie Torres going to tell the truth when that happens? Is he going to suddenly declare his independence from the Epstein Class? For over a year now, my Congressional campaign has been under assault, in one way or another by the forces of the Epstein Class. These attacks have been relentless—from my stepfather being illegally abducted by ICE and held in Delaney Hall, to political operatives surveilling my family’s personal residence under the pretense of trying to conduct an in-person “interview” with me, and a hit piece being published accusing me of enriching myself through my meager monthly salary of $2,419.66.  Of course, the general election in which I’m running as an independent candidate will take place on Nov. 3, less than two weeks from now. Producing campaign material, such as lawn signs, posters, and literature, as you know, costs money. They know that, and they know I don’t have any PAC money, any Super-PAC money, and I don’t have Miriam Adelson telling me what to do from behind the scenes. If you believe in fighting back when you are attacked by people that hate poor people, and think that they can control the “democratic” process of voting and elections, no matter what the people think, then I need you to step up right now, and help me with money, with time, and with exposure. Why is the Vega campaign important to you, the country, and in another certain way, the world? This level of targeted harassment against us is not merely happening because we are running a local opposition campaign against Ritchie Torres. It is because of our insistence on relating the everyday issues of the Bronx, such as an Albanian food pantry owner in the Bronx being illegally detained by ICE as he was feeding 6,000-7,000 people in the borough every month, to what is occurring internationally.  In France, students, teachers, and others are demonstrating for a well-funded, secure education system, where schools aren’t plagued by rats.  In Spain, an 87-year-old wheelchair-bound woman, Maricarmen Abascal, was forcefully evicted from the apartment in which she lived for 70 years, after the property managers demanded she pay an increased 230% rent hike. This provoked people from throughout the country, in 50 cities, to demonstrate on her behalf for affordable housing conditions in the hundreds of thousands.  In Germany, Berlin youth protested the proposed military conscription policy, which would have 18-year-old males join the armed forces to fight a doomed war against Russia as the country suffers from unprecedented price inflation, industrial collapse, and depression. When they demonstrated in force in the streets of Berlin, their signs read, “The rich want war; the youth want a future!” Stand with us, and declare your independence with us. As we approach the final 11 days before the election, we are going to keep organizing and going full-steam ahead. Help us keep that effort going. We need $25,000 right now, not just to recover what we have lost, but to go beyond it. Here’s how that can be raised: if 100 people have $250, that would do it; if 10 people have $2,500, that would do it; if 1,000 people gave $25, that would do it. I refuse to be discouraged.
