I have followed @4thOfJuly365 for a long time. I was among the many small accounts he got into trouble for helping. After demonetization, he became more publicly critical of Trump on issues like prices and potential foreign interventions. But his comments have been fair, so I am okay with that. Democrats have also stopped or canceled major pipelines, including Keystone XL, even though pipelines are generally safer, more efficient, and lower-emission ways to move oil than the rail or truck alternatives that result when projects are blocked. At the same time, they have restricted new drilling through pauses on federal leases, offshore bans, and other limits on production, particularly on public lands and waters. These policies have constrained supply. When gas prices in California climbed past $5 a gallon, some Democratic leaders and progressive advocates treated the spike as useful pressure that helped advance their climate agenda, including elements of the Green New Deal, rather than as a problem to be fixed by increasing domestic energy supply. In short, the pattern of opposing new refining capacity, blocking pipelines, and limiting drilling indicates that lower gas prices are not a priority for many Democratic politicians. They are lying to you if they say otherwise. Their actions peak for themselves.
