He was correct here and the student was out of his depth. Trying to make the claim that "Christianity is actually pro-gay" based on lawyering of Bible verses is a New Atheism instinct that falls flat under serious scrutiny.

A big portion of the far right voter base are idiots who only see politics as entertainment. It's not real to them, culture wars are the only thing they care about.
