LACSON TAKES TAGUIG ‘GHOST PROJECTS’ CASE TO OMBUDSMAN
JUST IN: Senator Ping Lacson said he has turned over to the Office of the Ombudsman the evidence his office gathered on alleged anomalies involving infrastructure projects in Taguig City.
"We are looking at possible cases of plunder, malversation, and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (RA 3019), etc," Lacson said.
He said Taguig has ₱14.4 billion worth of infrastructure projects from 2020 to 2025, including alleged "ghost projects."
Lacson earlier alleged that some of the questionable projects were funded through budget insertions by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. NewsWatch Plus has reached out to Cayetano for comment. | @eimorpsantos

LOOK: Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo led on Friday, June 19, the launch of the People's Budget Portal, an online platform designed to promote transparency, accountability, and participatory governance.
Through the portal, city government offices and the Naga City People's Council can submit programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) in a structured manner and in compliance with guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
The platform also enables residents to monitor and scrutinize how public funds are allocated and spent throughout the remainder of Robredo's term, which runs until 2028.

The Office of the Solicitor General has urged the Supreme Court (SC) to reject Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s bid to block his arrest following an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant.
“The Philippines stands before the international community with a solemn commitment that this country will never become a sanctuary for impunity for the narrow and universally condemned class of atrocities known as crimes against humanity. Through Republic Act No. 9851, the State itself acknowledged and committed to the international community that there are crimes so grave that our government cannot simply look away,” their concluding statement filed on May 16, 2026 read.

Atty. Carpio is married to the Vice President and under our laws, their properties are communal in nature. So, there should be every reason to look into the properties of both spouses. At the same time, kailangan din nating makita, based on what was alleged in the complaint, kung ano talaga ang basis for those claims of unexplained wealth.
Klaro naman na iyong inilabas ng AMLC ay mga covered and suspicious transactions. Wala namang inilabas na any specific accounts. These are required because of the charges filed before us which are contained in the impeachment complaints. Papaano natin malalaman kung may basehan 'yon kung hindi naman ma-i-po-produce ang mga records na 'yon.
The Committee has given them every opportunity to appear and participate. And if they want to really say anything about the evidence, then that's the proper forum for them to participate in.
