Based on media estimates from diverse sources, taxpayer costs for President Trump's golf trips since Jan. 20, 2025, total $56 million as of July. Projecting linearly for the full year: approx. $115 million. This could feed about 29,300 food-insecure children annually (Feeding America's $3,920/child estimate).

Today, I took the next step to move forward on the Social Security Fairness Act on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
A strong bipartisan bill that already passed the House.
It would ensure Americans are not erroneously denied their well-earned social security benefits simply because they chose at some point to work in their careers in public service.

I’m talking about public servants like firefighters, teachers, postal workers, police, and so many other jobs like that.

Would also help teachers if WEP - windfall elimination program was eliminated. Teachers live in abject poverty in some states because they don't get their spouses' SS check when they pass. In most cases only 20% of their own SS they earned! So sad our government did this to them.
