I've written a lengthy piece on how to understand market reforms under socialism while taking Marxism seriously and with Cuba as a case study, again for @CosmonautMag. Hope you like it!
Navigating the course between economic retreat driven by the necessities of survival and adherence to revolutionary principles through popular mobilization, Albert Gil (@LarryAlbertGil) examines the latest slate of Cuban economic reforms in the context of the Marxist revolutionary project.

Perdó per ser l'amic massa woke però no podem ser l'únic país on fer blackface estigui socialment acceptat, si us plau

we need a ban on leftists reading too much German or Russian history. It’s getting to the point where it actually prevents ppl from thinking clearly about the actual present. it’s like American boomers and World War II.
The last real Ancien Régime life. Beautiful.
There was a chap at Oxford who came up in the 80s to research the 4 year tenure of a Yorkshire bishop. He spent 40 years on it, draining an inheritance left on condition it was spent on his education. Daily Mass (sometimes several times a day), lobster every day at Brown's next to the Oratory (hence the gout), magnificent dinner parties for miscreants, oddballs and grad students, and generous to charity. His fingers were so fat that his signet rings appeared stuck to them. Having spent every last penny, he was evicted from his apartment and became a monk some 3 years ago. No wife, no kids, and I don't think the DPhil ever got finished.
Top 5 most eccentric human beings I’ve met in my life. Bless him.
Isn't it kinda crazy that Phoebe Waller-Bridge made one of the best shows of the century as her debut and then hasn't made anything else that is better than mid while enjoying all those fat cheques. Beast mode, imho.
Sometimes I'm smart enough to buy a specific book but not enough to read it and even less to understand it.
Do you ever see a social media post and say "yeah, this one will be used in so many history books to make a point"
