Congratulations to May Whitney Elementary School, recipient of the 2026 Governor's Blue Ribbon Schools Award, earning one of the state's highest recognitions for educational excellence!!! The school is one of just 24 schools statewide to receive the distinction this year. The Illinois Governor's Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and nonpublic schools that demonstrate exceptional student outcomes through outstanding academic performance or success in closing achievement gaps. May Whitney was recognized as an Exemplary High Performing School. The Governor's Blue Ribbon Schools Program was established in 2025, after the federal administration abruptly ended the prestigious U.S. Department of Education program. Schools receiving the designation serve as models for effective teaching, learning, and student support across the state. #Empower95 #DreamBig95

This month, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible leadership, dedication, and heart our principals bring to our schools every single day. They are the champions of student success, the anchors of school culture, and the quiet heroes behind every thriving classroom. #Empower95 #ThriveIn95 #ThankAPrincipal

Today, we celebrate the unsung heroes of our schools — our custodians. Their dedication, hard work, and care ensure that our learning environments are clean, safe, and welcoming every single day. From early mornings to late nights, they go above and beyond — not just maintaining our buildings, but also supporting our school communities with dedication and care.
