Quack Quack! It's #MeetTheMuseumMonday with Lauren @laurmcfar from @LavretskyLab ! Check out her awesome research with population genetics in mallards! #museumlife #waterfowl

ALT I am part of the Lavretsky Lab, where I am conducting a PhD research project focusing on population genetics of interbred domestic and wild mallards. Specifically, I am interested in incorporating findings from contemporary DNA analyses to conventional methods to better understand and conserve species.

Iiiiit's time for #MeetTheMuseumMonday! Meet Vergie, a UTEP alum, waterfowl preparator and technician for Ornithology Curator @LavretskyLab ! #ornithology #birds #museumlife

ALT I am a UTEP alumni and graduated back in Fall 2020 with a BS in Environmental Science with a Concentration in Biology. I am now a technician for Dr. Lavretsky's Population and Genetics lab which focuses on the mallard complex. My job here is balanced between lab and museum work! I mostly prepare waterfowl species that we keep in the teaching collections here at UTEP
