Just as in code, mental updates are harder than initial writes. Expanding knowledge is easy. Especially when it strengthens your pattern matching. Appropriately invalidating and updating what you “make it mean” when you get new inputs is harder. But it’s worth it.
Stop asking for feedback on how to grow from people who don’t see your value. If they don’t understand your gifts they can’t grow them. Seek knowing their perspective and perhaps influencing it. But these are not the guides you are looking for.
7: it’d be cool if we could tell exactly where each lightning & each thunder came from…those seemed close together
Me: thunder & lightning are not 2 things…they are the visual & sound parts of 1 thing
7: so sound travels slower than light?

Strategy and execution need to be evaluated separately. If you don’t understand the WHY of the strategy, the risk of failure rises with complexity much faster. People aren’t good at dealing with ambiguity. Their minds auto fill-in the gaps and understandings drift apart.
A 7yo asked me what I wanted to do with my life. Caught off guard, I turned the question to him. He answers with a calm conviction “I want to be a poet. I’d like to relax with a cup of coffee and write poems.” Kid still has me reflecting on my life choices.
Ever go to a meeting without even checking the invite list? I gave myself a fun little surprise for a Friday afternoon. The best fun at work is when the work is fun.
People with telescopes or know things about telescopes...what do you recommend? What should I know ?
Every once of my mental and physical energy has been spent.
But I just noticed I can see the Big Dipper ⭐️ from my bed. From my 🛌!!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a pure peace.
I can’t recall a harder year. Parts almost broke me. Who knows what this next one will bring. I can’t change the world, but I can control what I do. And right now I feel like a badass.
This was so much fun, thanks for having me.
